The climax of a 16 km (10 mile) scenic highway known as the Akamina Parkway, is Cameron Lake. Nestled between the majestic mountain peaks of the Akamina Ridge, this sub-alpine lake is one of many serene bodies of water that makes up Waterton Lakes National Park. Beautiful Cameron lake is a great place to rent a canoe and grizzlies are often seen on the far slopes.

We drove down the Akamina Parkway to Cameron Lake. We ended up hiking along side this lake as some of the earlier hikes on Akamina Pkwy were closed due to bear activity. Cameron Lake was an easy hike/walk. Mostly shaded which was nice. Nice view...More

A very scenic lake at the end of Akamina Parkway, which is a scenic drive of about 10 miles each way. Due to smoke from forest fires far end of lake was a little hazy. All trails and side roads off of Akamina Parkway were...More

If you've been to Morraine, Emerald, O'Hara, Louise or other high mountain lakes, then this one doesn't quite measure up. On the other hand, the drive up is very pretty and the lake IS pretty, but beyond all of that it is a very neat...More

We drove into Waterton and went to Cameron Lake for our first hike. It was just stunning. The hike was great for me and my 6 year old. There was plenty to take in along the trail. I would love to return soon!

Cameron Lake is a serene beautiful getaway. And now with a newly rebuilt road (which really needed the upgrade) and increased parking spots it's even easier to access.

Truly one of natures best creations. This is a scenic place of harmony and peace. The snow caped mountains and glaciers merge with the forest and placid waters of Cameron Lake. Be prepared, however for lots of traffic going to and from Also, one must...More

Driving to Lake Cameron from Waterton was easy. It's a pretty spot. There are several types of boats to rent. Have been told one can usually see wildlife along the shore in early am and late afternoons.

The drive to the lake is pretty and not far from Waterton. The lake is gorgeous. Didn't rent a boat but would for sure next time. Walked the trail along the lake and that was super nice, it's an easy walk.

A pretty lake that is in two Canadian provinces and one US state! You can hire canoes and such. You can also hike back down to Waterton.

Imagine yourself on a glass-like alpine lake. The mountains have a bit of remaining snow that's reflected in the water. Loons are calling. Eagles are soaring. You're in a canoe, silently paddling along, taking it all in. That was our experience on Cameron Lake. It...More

There are some picnic tables in the area. It would be a good idea to take something to sit on for your picnic too, as this is a very busy place right now, especially at weekends.
