Today we visited Tissington Hall and Gardens. We were very impressed by this splendid house, everything is so well preserved and maintained! Also the Gardens are very beautiful with nice varied flowerbeds.
Everyone was very welcoming!

Incredible visit!

I was given a tour by Mary, which was luckily a personal tour which went into great detail and provided in depth knowledge of all of the rooms and family.

It's a beautiful property and volunteers provide great knowledge; the tours are a must on available days!

We called here after many years since our last visit. Never changes from a peaceful location that is enjoyed by many visitors. Very well maintained area that offers the traveller interesting times. The church has a Saxon cross base & a very old christening font. The houses & business properties are a pleasure to photograph. Friendly locals who give information on their home life & are obviously very content with their situation. My photos tell their own story. Will revisit when able. Thank you for the warm welcome.

Stayed at the Gardener's Cottage within Tissington village. Very relaxing and lots to do nearby; whether that be walking, cycling or driving to villages and towns nearby. Cottage is surrounded by sheep, ducks and cattle with no noise from vehicular traffic. A lovely nights sleep in beautiful surroundings.

The Hall and grounds were closed due to covid restrictions but the village is amazing. We took 3 children who loved walking around, looking at the history and ducks 🤣 . The traditional sweet shop was open and its an awesome place selling classic sweets, fudge and ice creams. It's a fascinating village steeped in history and intrest. Beautiful place

We visited today to see the Hall decorated with a Christmas carol theme, and would thoroughly recommend.
After a warm welcome from Sir Richard, we had a leisurely walk around the decorated rooms, which were absolutely mesmerising. The work which has gone into the creations is amazing, and we can't wait to return next year.
Tomorrow is the final opening date for this year's Christmas extravaganza though, so be quick!

Our first visit to Tissington Hall at Christmas & we weren't disappointed. A warm welcome was given to all visitors on arrival, to match the beautiful fires glowing in the glow of fairy lights & Christmas trees. Each room beautifully decorated, a lovely tribute to the soldiers of WW1 was very touching. We've never seen Frozen, but the themed room was beautiful, a real sight to behold. The house itself was very homely we thought, we are looking forward to coming back to visit next summer, to hear about it's history in more detail. Thank you to everyone for making us feel very welcome. Not forgetting the staff in the café for the lovely tea cakes & prompt service. Well done. See you next year.

Christmas at it's best, all the rooms are beautifully decorated and great care has been taken so that each room is more spectacular than the last. This was my second visit to Tissington, the first was in the summer when the gardens looked lovely. Sir Richard takes care to make all visitors feel welcome. Nice cafe, lovely village. Make sure you visit the butcher if you want good meat. Well done to everyone for arranging such a good event. Free parking, check opening times before you go.

I went here this evening as part of an organised trip with my friends’ choir. The hall was beautifully decorated and the dark evening added to the atmosphere. Later there were ghost stories read to us in the hall in front of a raging fire while we were served mince pies and mulled wine. Sir Richard himself took us around and answered my questions about the art. The whole experience was truly magical. Each room was decorated tastefully and related to a specific Christmas carol. One in particular included a World War One theme and the carol of course ,was Silent Night. The choir I was with sang. So very moving.
Please visit here this Christmas if you are able. Very friendly people, gorgeous decorations and encompasses the meaning of Christmas! Loved it!
