Came to Tissington for a walk and found out the hall had decorated rooms for Christmas. We decided to go and didn't regret it one bit! Absolutely stunning house, beautifully thought out and well decorated rooms that had different themes. My personal favourite was walking through the cupboard into Narnia! Lovely atmosphere, not too busy and just the right price!... More

Four of us visited this Christmas event on Saturday November. We are all grown - ups but were delighted and charmed by the beautiful room sets and decorations on the theme of fairy tales. It truly was enchanting. We especially loved stepping through the Narnia wardrobe into the realm of the Snow Queen! I defy anyone to not be enchanted... More

A prebooked group of 17 came back this year to sample the fabulous Christmas themed rooms, each a work of art. This is an intimate unhurried experience with a warm welcome and burning log fire on entrance. The set designer has achieved a delightful display with Cinderella, The Nutcracker and Narnia some of the rooms. Wear warm clothes as only... More

Tissington Hall is the centre piece of this beautiful village dating back to the early 1600's near Ashbourne in the Peak District. The Hall is a wedding venue which from the outside looks magnificent. Don't miss the rest of the village with its plant nursery, candle manufacturer, pond and tea rooms. Most of it is open Thurs-Sunday but other areas... More

This Grade II 17th Century mansion has been in the Fitzherbert family for the past 400 years. The current incumbent is Sir Richard who runs the Hall, and occasionally can be found lending a hand in the Tearooms. It is possible to see the inside of Tissington Hall, but check opening times before you visit to avoid disappointment. Christmastime is... More

Beautiful area. Make sure you visit before 5 and check out whether the hall will actually be open (on the day we went, it was sadly being hired out for an event). Tea places and shops nearby close at around 5. Nice garden centre near by. Places nearby to go on trails etc

We stumbled upon this place whilst cycling on a rainy day with our family on the Tissington Trail. It was raining quite heavily and we needed to seek refuge and have some food. We must have looked a real site as we'd been soaked through and were not the most smartly dressed! When we arrived at the tea rooms, the... More

We were delighted with our stay in The Bulter's Retreat suite, which is part of the old servants' quarters at Tissington Hall. The elegantly decorated suite comprises a lovely, spaceous bedroom with sitting area and very comfortable bed; a nicely appointed bathroom with bath and shower, and a cosy kitchen, suitable for continental style breakfasting. The Butler's Retreat is very... More

This was such a lovely day out on so many levels! You get a small tour which we were lucky enough to have delivered by the current Barron himself which was really nice and he was such a down to earth humble man. Secondly in the cafe I had one of the best tasting BLT sandwiches I have ever had... More

This wonderful village is on my doorstep but I'd not been in the hall until today. It was amazing. Our heritage is being well cared for in the safe hands of Sir Robert Fitzherbert, who came to say hello to our tour. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, gardens beautifully kept. Its a step back in time. The village is... More
