Great for a walk to Dovedale
Jun 2021
Lovely National Trust park and great for a shortish walk to Dovedale (and probably a little quieter than Dovedale). Lots of space for picnics and the village is very quaint!

Amazing views, easy parking, lovely walks and close to Ashbourne Town and all it's facilities. Ability to walk to the famous Stepping Stone from there.

A must visit when in the area
Apr 2021 • Friends
Ilam Park is very simple National Trust site but well worth a visit if in the area. Good clean toilets and a simple cafe serving drinks and light snacks. The 1 mile circular walk around the grounds is gentle and pleasant.

We also walked to Dovedale and the stepping stones. This is around 1.5 miles with a few steps and stiles but the walk is not too difficult.

Visited whilst staying locally. So glad we did it was absolutely beautiful my daughter got to do a little trail which she loved. The staff we met were very friendly. The scenery and gardens really are worth the visit so pleased we went.

The best National Trust site!
Feb 2021
My favourite National Trust Site! Absolutely perfect as always! Loved our walk, being in nature and coffee from the grab and go! Can't wait for the tea room to be open again- it's not quite the same!

Lovely place
Jan 2021 • Couples
Absolutely beautiful place. Wish I had researched before I went though as the carpark machine was cash only and didn’t realise that you could pay by card if go into the cafe (still open for takeaway) We ended up driving for another half an hour looking for somewhere else to park, found one spot about half a mile away but can imagine it’s nearly impossible in the summer months. Still it was a beautiful walk down to the park anyway.

Also highly recommend the vegan cauliflower pasty from the cafe, best vegan pasty I’ve had and I’m Cornish so that says a lot!
