Arrived after park closed so "camped" outside the gates. Very friendly in morning, paid our park fee, drove to trailhead, ascended the moutain(take a clockwise route with the scramble at the top) and swam in the lake afterwards. Straight forward and enjoyable.

My partner and I spent 2 nights in the Armstrong campground, and hiked the Mount Carleton trail on a Saturday. We had perfect weather - low 20's, no bugs, clear skies. We walked counterclockwise along this trail and, including lunch at the top and some...More

Actually, there is a camping site right at the park. The cabin I was in was mostly a fire lookout but you should find more info when you google this: tourism new-brunswick and look for Mount Carleton. All the info are on... More
