The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

Our hike to the lighthouse really validated our decision to stay in Ucluelet rather than Tofino. This is the place!

Even for those who are not avid hikers, this is a must see experience. The trail is very well maintained and the grade is relatively modest for most of the trail. There are many beautiful viewpoints. The ocean, the coastal rocks, the ever changing light and the lush vegetation provide many scenic photo opportunities.

This 2.6km hike is a must!! Absolutely stunning scenery, it is an easy hike, about an hour plus the time you spend at the many look-outs. The weather was a mix of sun, dramatic clouds, rain, hail (briefly) and thunder but quickly changing. Gorgeous!,

Was easy to walk without being physical fit . Views are breath taking . Of course bring binoculars so see the whales that do come close enough to shore to see. Loved all the vistas that have a bench to sit and enough . Trails clearly marked . Tons of parking .

This is a simple trail which leads to the lighthouse. It has a magnificent view with informative signboards along the way. Definitely do drop by this trail if you are visiting ukee!

Rain or shine do this relatively easy trail. Beautiful waves crashing as you walk a truly wild trail. Dog friendly; however be weary of wolves and bears, watch out for warning signs if they are being active at that time

We have walked this trail which is just over 2km at the Lighthouse end. There is another portion that is about 8km. The shorter trail is an easy walk with great scenery whether it is stormy or sunny. It isn't a long trail but worth doing. There is good parking too.

We only had time to walk the Light House Loop but it was worth every step even though it was March. We have to repeat in the summer. The walk is easy with some undulating spots but there are so many spectacular viewpoints and benches that anyone should be able to maneuver it.

This was an exciting trail to walk and jog. The trails are very well groomed with several lookout points. You can't get lost. There were always other hikers and people walking their dog. There is a shorter trail at the north end and a longer trail at the south end of Ucluelet. Don't miss them both. If you can don't... More
