The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

This easy 2.6 km loop to the century old amphitrite lighthouse has several scenic view points along the way. It took us almost 2 hours since we enjoyed all the views. There is one of those love lock stands about half way to the lighthouse.

We walked most of the trail, unfortunately in the rain, but thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not particularly adventurous but the paths are very well maintained and signposted. Would definitely recommend.

A great trail. You'll hike along the coastline for hours. It will give you beautiful views. You may see whales, eagles and an occasional fellow hiker/jogger.

I would go and park by the lighthouse, and do the loop there. It takes about 45 minutes, but you could easily take 90 minutes! Lots of wonderful benches to sit on, and enjoy the view. And take binoculars too. You may see... More
