The Gertrude Lawson Museum in West Vancouver, BC is a beautiful stone house built in the 1940's. The City of West Vancouver now operates an art gallery and archive collection from this house. The art gallery space is excellent and the current show New Design Gallery, is an excellent group show of BC painters who showed at the NDG in the 1950s and 60s. The museum sits on a large property at 680 - 17th Street with lovely manicured gardens. It's worth checking out their current exhibitions through their web site and making a destination visit. While you may only need a half hour to view an exhibition, you will find that, whether you are a tourist or a local, there are lots of shops in a delightful village setting just three blocks away. So if you have a two hour window to go visiting, you will have a very pleasant place to explore; and there are lots of restaurants in the village for refreshments before or after. http://westvancouvermuseum.ca/…
