There is no better way to experience the spectacular sites and atmosphere...

There is no better way to experience the spectacular sites and atmosphere of Lunenburg's historic streetscapes and working waterfront than on foot. Lunenburg Walking Tours was created to offer visitors to our UNESCO World Heritage Site town - one of only two such urban sites in North America - an educational and entertaining directed walk through history. Co-Owners Shelah Allen and Ashlee Feener, both descendants from original founding families, bring authenticity, accuracy, and levity, all woven into great stories, to your outing. Tours are at a gentle pace, vary in length depending on the tour, go rain or shine, and require a reservation by phone/text or email.

Just barely made this tour, given by a local; we're sure glad that we got there in a nick of time!

We found ourselves in a bit of a jam trying to get from White Point to Lunenburg to catch this tour. It was a traffic jam. Not thinking that we could possibly make it in time, not knowing where we were going, we pulled into the Lunenberg Visitor's Center. They were very helpful, gave us directions, and assured us that... My wife and I went on a tour of the town, a World Heritage site, guided by Ashlee, co-owner of the company. As we walked down the hill from the Lunenburg Academy, Ashlee stopped to tell us about several of the well-preserved (and often brightly colored) examples of British colonial architecture. Ashlee’s enthusiasm showed her pride in her town, and... More

Sheila was great, bringing the town alive with her stories and facts. Highly recommended. She even got us access into one of the beautiful churches!

We took the 10:00 a.m. Essential Lunenburg Walking Tour with Ralph (Shelah was busy with another group). I have to say Ralph was FANTASTIC! My gosh, what a wealth of information he has about the history of Lunenburg. It was all very interesting. Ralph gives you so much information concerning the history and architecture of the town. This tour does... More

We went on this tour when we first arrived in Lunenburg and it gave us a great information about the history of Lunenburg and what was happening today. We enjoyed the stories as we walked through the town down to the water front.

We thoroughly enjoyed this ghost walk through the lovely town of Lunenburg. It was both informative & entertaining and our guide was lovely! The walk provided a perfect balance between a ghost tour, taking in the sites of Lunenburg with a bit of history for good measure. Would highly recommend!!

I take pictures. Lunenburg has great sites to do just that. The golf course across the harbor is a great place to shoot the harbor. The town is easy to walk in if you do not mind hills. We opted to walk on our own. We could cover more area in less time that the tour takes. It also gave... More

This little over an hour tour takes you through the streets of Lunenburg: from the top of the hill at the Academy down to the waterfront near the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Sheila, a native Lunenburger was fantastic, inserting many interesting stories along the way. We learned about the rich history of the town through its architecture, churches, and... More

The history in this community is captivating. The architecture of the buildings is a step back in time. Definitely a place to visit.

We really liked this tour. It's a really pretty town but you gain much more appreciation from a guide who can tell you more about what you're looking at. He had lots of stories about individual homes and churches. It was a nice way to spend a morning. We have three young children (6, 9 and 11) and while it... More
