This is a nice spot for a picnic, swimming, and kayaking, but it can be busy on the weekends during the summer, so best to get there early. The lake is on the smaller size but there is quite a bit of beach area. There...More

What a great little lake for fresh water swimming. My friend and I swam out and across and around three little islands. The water is clean and we had a minnow spa resting on a shoal watching the wee fish swim around us. Perfect day...More

Beautiful beaches, very peaceful, the water look very clean and clear, the forest is wonderful. Bring a bathing suit, and towel, a great area for picnic.

We were here on a hot afternoon, and were impressed with how well kept it was. Bathrooms were immaculate for a park! It was a very nice afternoon here.

We were hoping to find a hiking trail around the lake but only found a short one, other than that it was a beautiful lake and picnic area, and the water was warm and not too many people either.

Very quiet and lovely, with well-kept trails. The lake was very quiet when we were there, and I had opportunity for some great reflection shots with my new camera ! Nice picnic tables close to the water.

We spent a hot sunny afternoon at the beach here today and it was wonderful. The lake is shallow and warm so it's great for swimming and water games, paddle boards, kayaks and inner tubes. There are a couple of islands a ways off shore...More

A local once told me it's because there are a lot of areas off of it that when seen from above look like the legs of a spider.

I'm not sure. It's pretty rugged and the paths that are there are all dirt. When were you thinking of going?? I might be able to get up there and check before you go all the way out there??
