We loved this island. When we got there we had to wait for the road to surface from the water. When the tides sank enough to go there we loved everything about it. The history of the house of an important character in Canadian history...More

We were so excited to do this. However, we went to Barr Harbor Island a couple days before which took some of the excitement out of this one. Still a great place to visit!

Watched a fabulous ragtime piano concert in the restored barn last Monday evening. They have more concerts scheduled this summer. A tour of Sir William Van Horne's house provides a wonderful glimpse into our country's history. The island itself is a treat. Very pastoral!

This was Cornelius Van Horne's private island so the buildings are glimpse into Canada's gilded age. The guided tours are best for this. You can self guide around the island trails but take at least 2 hours to see the seascape; the geology; and wildlife.

So cool to drive on the ocean floor to this beautiful island. We were impressed with how accessible the entire estate was to visitors. The guide gives a 10 minute intro, then allows visitors to explore the home at their own pace while still being...More

It is just FUN to wait for low tide & drive out to this secluded island! Toured the home and some of the grounds before returning to the mainland. Gorgeous scenery! Wished we had the bikes, kayaks, and more time :)

The coolest thing about Ministers island is you have to drive across the ocean floor at low tide to get there, the buildings were good. Really enjoyed the history we learned and how it tied in to many other things we learned on our trip...More

I think this little island is so pretty I love to picnic there. Also the tour of the estate was informative and educational. If you want an easy going day this is a perfect spot to stop in to!

We were given a guided tour by a very knowledgeable guide - Susan. The property was nicely kept and the views of the ocean were picturesk. Visits must be worked around the tides so very important to check ahead when planning a visit. It is...More

Sorry - I don't recall but I found a website which says $8 and it sounds right. Tripadvisor is giving me a hard time pasting it in but google it. Bring food if you want to eat there - no concessions. You pay when you... More
