I was excited to see this house because it looked stunning from the outside and we happened upon it when we were in line for the Gananoque boat tours. Admittedly we did no research on it and it was a fluke find so we went...More

Interesting museum and well done for small museum which you can walk through in short time. Admission is by donation of your choosing. Very friendly museum staff. Nice that a bit of history is being kept alive.

This is a very well-done small town museum with an impressive amount of information relating to the War of 1812, the early manufacturing history of Gananoque, and the local Thousand Island cottaging and fishing activities. They have a small gift shop with quality items.

This is not a large museum, but a wide variety of exhibits cover the history of the 1000 Islands area rather well, with special emphasis on the golden age of the millionaires who built their massive "cottages" on the islands.

This museum is worth the time to visit and gives a good overview of the area. There was no fee when we visited - donations only.

Really well preserved artifacts and interesting history of 1000 Islands. I highly recommend it. Very close to boat cruises and beach.
