Great for hiking or rafting in the mountains

I loved this river as it is beautiful for bush-walking, mud baths, a picnic and rafting. This is one of the most beautiful places we saw in Canada. I can't believe how big the... read more

Higher up, the Kicking Horse is a rough and tumble wild ride of a river. Beautiful to behold, high adrenaline to raft on. But in Golden, it calms down (at least outside the flood season) to a more noble river. In town, you can walk along it, right to its confluence with the Columbia River, in a fine park of... More

With great natural rock formations it's a lovely spot to stop for a break when travelling around the Yoho National Park. Good area for hiking and if you're up to it river rafting. With glacier waters I'd say it would be pretty cold.

I loved this river as it is beautiful for bush-walking, mud baths, a picnic and rafting. This is one of the most beautiful places we saw in Canada. I can't believe how big the mountains are and how much natural beauty there is in the country. I would recommend going for a walk in this area on a sunny day... More

Lovely river...lots of options for rafting, mud baths, walking. Freezing glacial water. Lots of places to stay along the edge but Quantum Leaps gets my vote.

I highly recommend going rafting on the Kicking Horse river. The staff really made this event extra special. They are clearly very passionate about rafting and take the safety and enjoyment of their customers very seriously. The equipment was excellent and the provided lunch was quite good. You can buy towels from them for $5 if you need. We had... More

We had a fabulous white water rafting experience with Hydra Rafting. Our guide, Jan, was great. Water was cold. Raining. Despite the cold and no sun-- fantastic trip.

Had a great afternoon with Hydra. A really nice hamburger lunch, followed by humorous and detailed safety briefing, and then a great time on the river. Very clean facilities, even hot showers. We were a little nervous as we were all over 60 with some physical limitations - but it was a perfect day - exhilarating but not over the... More

A great glimpse of history, especially if the trains come through while you are watching. The viewpoint can be a bit crowded if a bus or two arrives with you.

Had so much fun at Hydra white water rafting with our guide Jan who taught us lots about rafting and the history of the park. Would highly recommend to anyone especially those who have not tried it before.
