I use this trail every work day. It's even better since North Saanich repaved their portion and Central Saanich covered the stone path with asphalt. In BC many of the sidewalks are incorporated with the road (ei. no curbs but a white line).

I'm a senior and do a lot of walking but not much cycling (so far this year I've only been out once!) . So tackling the Lochside Trail was scary- it shouldn't have been. Perfectly flat (well there were a couple of very easy slopes)....More

This trail is both paved and hard packed so works for all kinds of bikes and walkers. The scenery is great, no car traffic and restaurants along the way. You can go from Sidney to Sooke and take side trips if you like

Lochside Trail goes all the way from Sydney to Victoria and joins the longer Galloping Goose Trails. The nice walk starts at the Sydney pier and meanderings along the shore south towards Victoria. At parts, you have to either walk on the beach or face...More

Very nice ride from BC Ferries to Victoria. Some road riding but most has a bicycle lane. All is very flat and can be ridden by even the most novice riders. Ties into the well laid out bike routes in Victoria and the wonderful Galloping...More

Good trail for biking and walking, it is about 6 km walk from golf course to the farm and back. Relax and have ice cream or tea after the walk.
