This is a quick and easy access from Yarmouth downtown, so even if you have only little time (i.e. while waiting for your ferry), it's a great spot to strech your legs or simply relax in a beautiful environment. Large free parking space on site....More

A great place to visit, relax, watch the ocean and birds and the seals at play and feeding. Walk the trails, or if you care to, clamor over the rocks, just be careful.

We have visited this lighthouse in all sorts of weather and there is always beauty to be found. On a foggy day it is very evocative and reminds one why the lighthouse is so important. In the sunshine on a calm day, the surroundings are...More

There are at least 100 lighthouses in NS. This is typical for those you can visit. If you haven't visited one, this is a good example.

A foggy day, but a beautiful area. Hidden off the main road and a windy road to get there. We were able to play with a fog horn button and the lights in the old lighthouse building.

The Cape Forchu Lightstation is just a short drive from the ferry docks. The fishing village is quaint and full of history. Be sure to ask about the "rogue waves" when you visit.

The day I was there it was very foggy and I could hear fishing boats motor by. It has been there since 1840 and I'm surprised that more ships have not wreaked around there. It is also the site where Danish petroglyphs were found.

I should add...in the maritimes, most beaches look beautiful, but can be quite deadly...heed the warnings from the locals...We don't tell you stories just for entertainment, we want to keep our visitors safe
