I struggle with zoo's, but the Habitat was thrilling. The bears have relatively large outside enclosures and a large pond to swim in. The interactive education centre was impressive and the staff very informative. The heritage village was closed for the season, but looked like a great place for a family day outing.

Admittedly I went in kind of an off season, but saw the three bears. They were pretty active, wrestling and wandering about. Took lots of good pictures. Didn't get a chance to visit the historical village - it was a bit too cold for that. Keepers were in site to answer questions and that made the trip much more interesting.... More

Great up close to see 3 polar bears. Active and playful. Good session with trainer to tell us about the bears.

We visited the Polar Bear Habitat a couple of weekends ago for our anniversary. We were not quite sure what to expect from a small service town that is basically at the end of the road in Northern Ontario. However, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the habitat is, and it doesn't feel like a zoo since their main... More

I was really excited to see this was not like zoo, but truly attempting to make a habitat for them. These are Polar Bears that would not survive in the wild, and they create games for them for stimulation and are very knowledgeable about Polar Bears and put their well being as number 1 priority. Everyone there was so friendly,... More

We visited the Polar Bear habitat for a few hours. It is best to find out when the feeding time is before paying as this is probably the best time to go if you want a good view of the bears. We also walked around the historic replica buildings Some interesting things to see. The bears seem to be very... More

It is located a short distance off the highway, turn at the OPP station and continue down the not so well maintained mostly gravel road. They have large parking lots just before the Habitat. We even found some shade adjacent to the trees. The entrance has the gift shop and a small room with a welcome/introductory video. We headed up... More

This is a zoo with two Polar Bears as the exhibits. the enclosures are a bit like Jarrassic Park - very sturdy! We saw one Polar Bear and he/she came up to the fence and showed off a little. A magnificent creature. We are unsure why these animals are kept in captivity, but the enclosure is very large and will... More

We didnt immediately see the bears when we got there. We waited and waited reading facts and about polar bears, playing interactive games, watching little videos. We decided to go have ice cream and slushies (great prices), tour some buildings and kids played in the park on the way out we saw them come into the viewing area and swim... More

This was definitely worth the drive to cochrane from timmins. We paid $50 taxes included for the family pass to the habitat and spent a good 3 hours watching the polar bears. The Bears are magnificent to watch and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The keeper talks are a must, you can find out the times on the... More
