This is a great location for hikers and sight-seers. You may encounter wildlife, so carry your bear spray!

The snow made a huge difference in the scenery and it was one a great difference. When we were starting the hike I just kept saying - how beautiful - because it was. The entire hike was around 16km around the lake and through the...More

My third visit to the lake was again in autumn, which meant very few people visiting in the middle of the week and no trouble to park right in front of the lake, left of the dam. You stand in front of different options. If...More

We did a hike that started at this lake at the end of September 2018. The lake is large with beautiful views of surrounding mountains. There are several hikes that you can do from here, and benches at different points around the lake to stop...More

We drove from Canmore-very beautiful drive on Rte 1 east and then south-there is a shorter road but it's partly unpaved and very rough in places. The lake is artificial but looks natural once you get away from the dam. There is a nice trail...More

Great fishing at the penstock between the Upper and Lower Lakes. You can use marshmellows as bait and no problem catching the big ones. Be on the watch for bears though. Any creek/river leading into the lakes have bears where the creek/river opens out to...More

Along with Lower Kananaskis Lake this is part of the Kananaskis trail which takes you from Seebe on a loop drive taking in Spray Lakes reservoir, Goat Pond and Whiteman's Pond before descending into Canmore. The second half of the drive is on gravelled road...More

The drive alone is worth going, but for me, getting away from the crowds was awesome too! Heard the hikes are great, but I didn't have time when I stopped

On a good weather day, the hike around the Upper lake is awesome. Not too hilly and some mosquitoes. You can do the full 17km around the lake or hike to the Point campground and back. Park at the Interlakes parking lot. Great views of...More

I would not recommend it as only the top foot of water is warm ish and close to the shore, even after a very hot summer diving into this lake could be fatal as cold water body shock is very likely,
