I visited Vivanco on a chilly December day. The skies were gloriously blue and the entire winery was bathed in bright sunlight. Against the backdrop of acres of barren vines and the hills of Briones the vineyard looked majestic. We signed on for the winery tour which included lunch and visit to the museum. The entire vineyard today is a... More

You should do the complete tour: winery + museum. It is an espetacular place, with excellent view from the vineyards, complete and entertaining museum and great wines. You cannot miss this visit,

Unfortunately, we only had around an hour to go round all five rooms which wasn't enough time at all. The audio guides were helpful (although temperamental). From the history of wine, to wine accessories through the ages; bottles, barrels and corks, to the grapes themselves and the methods involved, this place had it all. My favourite room was the sensory... More

This museum is worthy of a visit. The museum is well laid out and follows the process of making wine. There is sufficient information in English to help explain exhibits.

We were recommended to go by the reception in our hotel and they were right. Although Vivanco is a family winery, the museum was about the history of Rioja wines rather than their own story. It incorporates many facets - interaction for children of all ages (I just loved jumping on the moving bunches of grapes lit up on the... More

From barrels to bottles, from industrial machinery to latest pressing devices and filtering techniques, all related to winemaking industry is under that roof. The elegance of the building, the location itself, makes this visit a real pleasure. A collection of more than 3000 corck pullers was my favorite ! An amazing collection of tools and utensills for the wine industry... More

Fantastic experience visiting the museum and having the harvest tour. We had a WOW experience visiting the cellars. The museum was more impressive for us than the cité du vin in Bordeaux. Much more in depth info even if without much technology compared to this just new and high profile experience centre. The museum follwos a traditional approach, without audio... More

Didn't taste the wine but the museum and grounds are superb! Beautiful landscaping around the building and a very detailed examination of winemaking, wine making tools, artwork, myths...Absolutely everything that has to of with wine in one location, past and present. Very nice gift shop too and a bar the tasting room.

Really fantastic wine museum with well organised displays. However you can appreciate it much more if you speak Spanish. If unfortunately you need English version you are missing a lot of information. I know you can take audio guide in English, but I prefer to read. So there is one step to become the best wine museum in the World:... More

Such a fantastic place. Interesting, beautiful, informative, exceptional staff. Please go here; the museum and winery tour are well worth the hour each. The food is fantastic in the restaurant and the views are unsurpassed. Great afternoon/day out. Interesting to find out about the Rioja and Basque regions. You won't be disappointed! Viva Vivanco.
