Really interesting wine museum
Sep 2021 • Friends
We really enjoyed the wine museum here. Although all the signs around the museum are in Spanish there is a free app that you can download that gives an audio guide in other languages including English. We really enjoyed learning how wine was made and then seeing the collections including the 3000 corkscrews! At €17 per adult for entry it is quite expensive, and unfortunately they had no winery tours in English so we couldn’t get the combination ticket of museum with a tour (which I think would be better value). But overall definitely worth a visit if you are a wine enthusiast! It is an extensive museum and took us over 2 hours to tour it, using the audio guide.

Totally Impressed by the Museum!
Aug 2021
We were blown away by the museum and it far exceeded our expectations. We had allowed a few hours for the visit but could've easily spent twice as much time. If you're a lover of wine it's a must do. We particularly enjoyed the excellent videos showing nearly every aspect of historical wine making. You ever wonder how the cork gets from a tree to a wine bottle? You'll know by the time you leave here, not to mention how barrels are made, how labels are printed and applied, how glass bottles were crafted before the industrial age, etc. Loved the ancient and huge grape presses on display.

Very interesting

We really enjoyed the museum's visit as well as the wine testing. Really nice wine (particularly the crianza) and the visit was very informative with lots of clear information about how to make wine! Plan at least five hours to see the whole thing!

Unparalleled Vineyard Experience
Nov 2019 • Couples
We had the most unbelievable day when Vivanco wine export manager John Perry was contacted by our friend, the owner of the Charlottesville Wine Guild in Virginia, USA, and told we would be visiting Rioja. John gave us the most amazing tour of the unparalleled wine museum on the ground of Vivanco. We also got to examine the soil around the vineyard and learn about the particular growing environments that add to the excellent modern style wines coming from Vivanco. As well as seeing the state of the art wine making facility and barrel rooms. After this we then enjoyed an amazing traditional 3 course lunch with wine. This day was truly the experience of a lifetime, and I say that after visiting 100s of vineyard over the years.

Fiesta de la Vendimia
Oct 2019
We enjoyed the Fiesta de la Vendimia tour with Gemma as our wonderful guide. We learned to pick the grapes, step on them, enjoyed a delicious lunch cooked over fire made with dry grape branches. Afterwards we visited the Wine Museum which is a must for any wine lover.

You Can’t miss this place!

We came here mid-week and allocated an hour-and-a-half for the tour and tasting. Do yourself a favor and plan to spend the whole day here! Come for the tour when they open and ask for Eduardo. He provided an excellent English language tour.
I learned more on this tour than I have learned on numerous tours in Napa. More than a tour of the winery, It is about the history of wine itself, with winery operations interspersed.

Make sure you eat food in the restaurant!

Probably the Best Wine Museum around
Sep 2019
We took the guided tour of the museum and winery last September. The museum was really informative and the wine-related works of art collected by Vivanco are impressive. The production facilities seem top notch high-tech. Fermentation is done in oak barrels made by French coopers. The tour was fairly individual with only 8 to 10 participants. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and interestingly gravitated towards crianza, not riserva We got to taste some of the wines, and I have to say I was not blown away by the quality. The grounds of the winery are very nice.

An excellent tour for wine lovers: wine is not great but the museum and wine tour is amazing
Jul 2019
Perfect for wine lovers. The museum is absolutely outstanding. You really get to know the essence of wine production and history. Vivanco's wine is not great, but the tour and the meal that goes with it totally worth the afternoon.
