Yes, yes, yes. I love ancient sites and this was one of the best. Ancient stones scattered around and among the best views in all of Ireland. Depending on the weather, a bit windy at the top. But if you're blessed with a clear day, you can see into all four Irish provinces. Is it a steep climb up? Not excessively, but it could take a bit of wind out of you. (And wearing good shoes will help.) But so completely worth it.

A massive cairn worth the drive.
Be prepared for a long walk up a semi steep hill. But when you get to the top, oh my! The scenic view is incredible. The main cairn is quite large with smaller cairns all the way around it. You can't go in the main cairn as it is starting to collapse. It has a locked gate. I was a little annoyed when we were there as we could not look at some of the smaller cairns. There were people meditating in them. Why you would want to lie in a burial mound, I don't know. There are nice bathrooms about 50 feet down the road at a little campground. The cairns are free, but they ask for a donation. They are a nice, easy drive from Dublin.

Amazing for sightseeing and learning about heritage too!
I went here on a hike/walk with my husband and kids, we are currently staying in a yurt in the Loughcrew megalithic site. We drove up because it was raining heavily but it eventually stopped and we began walking. Lovely views from the top and a very kind tour guide answered all our questions☺️ Sadly I didn't get his name. It was a steep but me and my family do plenty of hiking do it was enjoyable 😁 Amazing place to go sightseeing and it was very fun for the kids aswell 100% recommend and we will be back down 👍

Really enjoyed our visit here. A bit of a climb however it was worth it. Just to think of what happened here around 5000 years ago. Wow!!!

My husband, aunts, and I went to Loughcrew on our holiday to Ireland. I was glad I packed some tennis shoes (I’m normally in flip flops) for the hike up to the top. It was somewhat physically challenging since it seemed like we were going straight up, but the view was worth it. We poked around a bit until it was time for the tour, and we really enjoyed learning from the guide. Would definitely do it again.

We visited the place during our camping and the place is amazing. We're lucky to get a tur guide.
The view is very beautiful and worth the 10 min climbing.

It's a bit out of the way and you have to climb uphill but it's worth it.
We went during OPW opening hours and had a fantastic tour with Felim (hope I spelt that right) who was very knowledgeable and described all the tombs, the lumps and bumps in the ground, the landscape around the hill and showed us the decorated stones. Marvellous.

Interesting cairn. Lovely views. This is a bit off the beaten track. There is a small car park near the top of the hill and then it is a steep climb to the cairn, however you can take it gradually and is achievable even by the relatively unfit. The views are incredible so plenty of excuse to 'enjoy the view'. There are a couple of information boards to explain what you are looking at. When you get to the cairn, do stop and look down the passageway to the stone at the end of the passage (torch useful) as the artwork is impressive.

Frequent walker of Loughcrew. My favourite place. Beautiful spectacular views especially on a clear day. Great place for family friends or solo. All ages. Free plentiful parking. Narrow roads to and from Loughcrew so cautious driving should be heeded for walkers, dogs and other vehicles.

Excellent day out with amazing view . When you reach the top not a long walk at all you sit on the hags chair then walk around the cairn 3 times an your wish comes true . So remember to bring a flower for the hag . I visited for the first time this year never heard about it before an definitely will go back . Glamping close by . An if you just go past the glamping site there's a house with the most amazing garden full of the oddest funny stuff owned by a lively couple we talked to them briefly .
