Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sorry but this was really the worst experience which I ever had with the guide. She came through the underground very fast with us, we did not get any information and did not enjoy the visit at all. It is a pitty,I was really interested in the history of Cachtice and this experience was very very very disappointing.

The visit of the underground definitely belongs to the trip to Čachtice. It will take you only about 20 minutes (be careful with parking, it is better to walk from the square) and cost you a little. It is not scary but has a special atmosphere because of all of the cruel history of Bathory lady. Your child will get a light and anti-fear candy :) Prepare for 8°C temperature in the cellars.

I've never heard about cachtice catacombs before. I visited them with family and 2,5y old daughter. Everything was great, of course they have daily scare level forecast :) Our guide was super. He explained everything and he knew lot of information. in underground are still working archaeologists so if you have luck you can meet them and ask questions. People behind catacombs are volunteers who were really kind. Thank you very much.

I can say only one bad thing: Parking. If you follow marks by car and you will reach last mark you could have problem to turn it over and go back. there is really narrow street and around houses. My recommendation is: find normal parking place and go there by walk :-)

Walking from the Cachtice castle we were following posters for the Cachtice Underground. It was supposed to be open from 10:00 to 18:00. We have arrived to the locked gate at 11:20. There was a bigger poster there saying "We are in the underground, please wait a while, thank you" and a small one added that read: "Technical break till 12:00, thank you for your patience". Well, big disappointment especially for our daughter (5). Of course in the hot weather we were not willing to wait for 40 minutes.

Amazing place. It is about 15 min short tour. Tour is underground, which was perfect, since it was raining. It's full of history. The whole town was connected underground and so far the volunteers uncovered only a small section of this historical site. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the place. In the end of the tour, we purchase a red wine called Bathory blood. It wasn't the right kind for me, but my mom enjoyed it. Highly recommend visiting this short but amazing tour.
