Windy but hot
Dec 2019 • Friends
Loved the beach and watching everyone wind surfing. The town of Elmedeno was really interesting. Once you sat out of the wind the sun was very hot. Nice place to spend New Year.

Fun beach!
Sep 2019
Nice little beach, a b it stony getting into the water, and watch out for the larger rocks once you're in - but then enjoy the waves as they come in! I'm not a great swimmer but I felt very safe here - some of the beaches in other areas are a bit too rough, water-wise for me. Great little café very close by on the promenade. sun beds available.

Good beach with crystal clear water
May 2019 • Couples
It's a really good beach with good infrastructure (toilet, cafe, shower) and a very good crystal clear water! It's great for swimmers who likes to snorkel. Its better to wear coral shoes because of a big rocks on the bottom.

Popular with Locals
Jun 2019 • Couples
This beach is popular with locals, especially at the weekends. It is a lovely beach wedged between black rocky outcrops. When not too crowded, it is a lovely and relaxing location.

Loved this beach
Jun 2019 • Family
This beach is delightful! It was right across the street from our vacation rental so we assumed we’d utilize it out of convenience, but it was actually really nice and we found ourselves wanting to be there. It was clean, uncrowded, there’s a playground and a market close by. The sand is soft, and while it’s a bit rocky, that can be avoided by going towards the water away from the hotel. My kids loved combing the rocks for hermit crabs. It was pretty windy each time we went, which makes sense as it’s not really shielded by anything. It’s so calm compared to the touristy beach we visited (total plus IMO). Loved it!

A short walk from the hotel

An enjoyable break from the luxury of the hotel, perfect if you have kids as there are life guards on duty all the time

Lovely walk from one end to the other good path most of the way albeit some slight rocky areas that some might find a challenge.

We were strolling along the seaside from Guía de Isora when we found this beautiful group of small lava sand beaches alongside a hotel complex and fields. There were various facilities, pathways for walkers and cyclists and a lifeguards' office. The area seemed to be fun for children as well with playgrounds and not deep sea pools.

nice black sand beach
Feb 2019 • Couples
this beach is cared by the hotel and consequently very clean and with an efficient safe guards service. There is a nice walk to reach it. There is a good bar serving all type of foods and drinks price higher than normal due to the fact the service is run by the 5 star hotel. Nice beach chairs and unmbrellas at a very reasonable price. However all beaches in Canary Islands are partly free and consequently you can enjoy the place if you have your own towels without paying a coin.

Now the Maritime Walkway is fully open between Los Gigantes and Alcala this once best kept secret is still a lovely area and much improved by the input and resource from the upmarket Gran Melia Palacio hotel. Rock pools, toilets, little beaches, cafe/bar serving great food and everywhere so very clean, tidy and well kept. Just had a refreshing swim in one of the pools ... and fresh water shower afterwards. All very delightful.

The Walkway is a good vantage point to view surfers on the rolling breakers. Gone are the days when the area was known as ‘surf city’ with all the VW Camper vans, camping and tents permanently lining the route.

Could do without the cyclists though ... it’s a walkway, not a ‘super cycling highway’
