    Above expectations
I did not expect much, apart from the fact that I read about Prometheus... :) and couldn’t find any connection of the greek mythology and this cave ;) It’s a very nicely organized attraction, with guided tours starting every hour in January. Our guide was very concrete and spoke many languages (english, russian and some words in polish too). In the biggest rooms where the group stops, the music plays and thereis a “light show”. The boat rides were cancelled while we were there due to heavy rains - but we thought it was a very nice option. The cave is really big and different limestone and clay formations really work on one’s imagination. The walk is 1,4 km long and it’s warm inside (14 degrees celcius). The shuttle takes you back to the main parking. All in all it was very nice!

    Impressive Cave Experience
We loved our brief tour of the Prometheus Cave in Kumistavi, Georgia. What was particularly impressive were the polychromatic lights and awe-inspiring music which accompanied the tour. Our guide was also very knowledgeable and friendly which also added to the experience. There were some magnificent rock formations in the cave which I simply loved and would recommend this place to everyone which only takes an hour or so. My only gripe here was they were late in opening the place to the public in the morning.

It is amazing what nature is capable of creating and what had its beginning something 60-70 million years ago. Certainly it should be a must in your itinerary.

I have been to many caves in the U.S. way better than this one. They take way too many people per tour (40+). Many people are not mobile enough to navigate the numerous stairs very well, and there are a lot! The cave is not at all interesting, and there is a TON of walking upstairs and downstairs. Each stop, you have to wait for the huge group of people to arrive so the guide can begin speaking. There is more walking up and down stairs between the 3 or 4 rooms than anything else. I believe it is 1420 meters long. For those of us in the U.S. that is 15 football fields, but going up and down many, many staircases & not seeing anything spectacular. The guide did give the tour in English, but since there were no other English speakers, it was hard to hear because people started talking.

Potentially interesting karst cave, but the visits are badly organized. Coloured lights everywhere give a strong sense of artificial, the guide barely speaks and gives the least indispensable information, the boat staff smoke in the cave and throw the cigarette butts in the water. Not to mention the higher ticket price for non Georgian citizens.
If you have already visited other karst caves in other countries, you can definitely skip this. In any case it's not worth any detour, go there only if you are in Kutaisi and have spare time.

The place was beautiful and absolutely worth seeing. The management of the place however is quite terrible. First of all, the tour is mandatory. The woman giving our tour, had a very unclear voice and almost no one could hear her. Second of all, they take in so many people at once that you won’t really be able to take pictures or observe much of the place. Third, if you book a boat ride, you’ll have the wait about 45 minutes for the boat as they take in so much people, yet the boat Carries about 10 people or less. On top of that, the staff is rude and I haven’t experienced any rudeness in Georgia besides this. They don’t really give information and seem like the genuinely can’t be bothered.

Really interesting caves. Huge caverns that are well lit with some nice displays. It is incredibly busy though so I would suggest going as early as possible. The tour we did was packed - at least 50 people - which made it difficult to hear the guide at times (she did the tour in 3 languages and a lot of people started talking once their language was finished). Smaller tours would make the experience far better.

This was a very big stalactite/stalagmite cave. We’ve visited many of these in various countries and this was probably the largest and longest we’ve seen. The place is well organized with guided tours. Our guide did a combination Russian/Georgian/English tour which was a bit tedious but not too bad. The tour is mostly walking with a short boat ride at the end. I’d recommend skipping the boat part as it’s short and doesn’t really add anything to the experience. Overall this was a nice excursion.

This cave is massive and the stalagmites and stalactites are huge. We’ve seen smaller ones in the US but this was amazing. By the way the colours you see in the pics are just lighting and that also made a lot brighter on android phones. In reality the caves and the inside is cream or brown. At certain points they play music and highlight certain areas with different coloured lights in a light hue.

Nice place to see, especially if you fly from Kutaisi. Boat exit is mandatory for complete experience.

I have seen a few caves in my time, sorry this was not worth the long journey at all. On top of that we shared the tour with incredibly rude Russian tourists.

You have to go with a guided group through these caves which is a shame. The group we were in was too large, it took ages to walk from viewpoint to viewpoint. Also, the guide only said a few words when the group had stopped and it was in English but not understandable - the speaker system was no good and the guide wasn't clearly spoken. It's a shame because the caves are really spectacular.

We had planned to go on the optional boat ride through the caves but there wasn't enough water in the river when we were there.
