This lake is so simple to get to, park, walk around and there is a lodge right by it. I highly recommend this Emerald Lake visit. The reflections and site is BEAUTIFUL! Even in November...it was gorgeous.

Emerald Lake is beautiful and well worth a visit. Allow 2 hours for the easy 5.6 km walk around the lake for different perspectives and some great photo opportunities. There are several convenient rocks by the waters edge for a rest or quiet moment's contemplation of the lake and the surrounding mountains. This place gets busy when we visited in... More

Emerald Lake is a very scenic and beautiful place. We recommend the 5.6km loop trail (easy trail although uneven at times) as there are some really nice spots for viewing the lake at different angles. We also did the Emerald Basin trail which we would rate as moderate but we were slightly disappointed with it. On a positive note, the... More

The "village" portion of the lake lacks tranquility, but the other 90% of the loop is worthwhile. The color of the water was not a color I was accustomed to. If you went mid-day on a nice day during the summer, this place would be jam-packed with people and vehicles. Going in the rain, early-ish in the day, in later... More

There is plenty of parking by the lake which also has a Lodge where you can stay - (although the parking for the Lodge is about a mile away). It is well worth the detour off Highway 1 to see Emerald Lake.

This is a really beautiful lake located in a spectacular location. The pace was a bit crowded as it was mid August. We spent some time finding a place to park the car. There is a big hotel at the entrance and a lot of people concentrate there for photograph and to enjoy the views. Then there is a path... More

Managed to get some nice pictures but the lake is a bit overrun and parking a mile away along the road was nessary. Worth it though.
