There is a nice movie before you start your tour and there is also one in the air conditioned synagogue building that is available in English or Hebrew. You just need to push the button and the 3 screens drop down. Still an active dig....More

We were based in the Gaillee for four days and were looking for places to visit. Amazingly, this place hardly registered either on the map provided by our hotel (where it was missed altogether) on in our guide book. However, this will undoubtedly be a...More

Whatever they say about Zippori cannot do justice to the site. The Israel Parks Authority have spent well, as the site is wheelchair and buggy / stroller friendly, with lots of shade, seats and picnic sites. The sheer quality of the 2000 year old mosaics...More

A trip though history from the Greek and Roman times, Sanhedrin period and the Islamic and Cruasder periods. The mosaics are outstanding, especially the synagogue floor. Do not miss the walk though the underground water system.

If you're visiting Nazareth, please go see the National Park in Sepphoris (Zippori) nearby. It's amazing to see the remains of this ancient city. Many Biblical scholars believe that Jesus may have spent time in Sepphoris working as it was a more cosmopolitan and wealthy...More

On my Bucket List was the mosaics of the 'Mona Lisa of the Galilee' in Tzippori National Park. The advice of tripadvisors, who answered my queries, helped us to realize that experience just 2 weeks ago. This beautifully preserved vast area far exceeded expectations. Though...More

If you’re at all interested in archeology this is a “must” stop. It contains examples for Greek, Roman, Jewish, Crusader and Ottoman civilizations. Many of the mosaics are in covered areas, which is helpful if the day is warm.

Certainly it's possible a day trip from Jerusalem to Zippori and back. You might ask for the specific transportation, but no doubt it's OK for one day.
Days and hours of operation. Admission fee. Handicap accessibility. Rest areas. Guides who lead groups. Private guide to hire.

I can't add anything to the excellent answers above except to say that the location is superb (able to see Nazareth in the hills above and a new community below. Most of all, however, Zippori has some of the best preserved... More
