Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's definitely worth it. You can tell that mayan people were strategically building their centers in high places. And the place is a place to enjoy, we were supposed to spend 1 hour there and ended up there for 3. There's a certain "feel" to the place. The only problem is that there are a bunch of mosquitoes specially in places with shade.

This is a very large Maya site; lots of walking and climbing. Well shaded. You can spend hours here. There was a young man playing the recorder when we visited which added to the atmosphere. Well worth the visit. You can take a taxi out there and arrange for the driver to pick you up in 3-4 hrs..

Very cool place! A lot larger than it seemed at first, very cool place to visit and explore! Great for groups, or just you and a friend!

We visited Tenam Puente ruin this summer. It's about 15 miles outside of the City of Comitan, and not as easy to get to as other sites I have visited. It cost about 200 Pesos to get there by Taxi, and given the route we took to get out, that was the right way to go. It was about $50 pesos per person to get in, but once in we were treated to a sprawling beautiful site. Lots to climb on and explore, the signs were great. Sadly the ticket stand lacks a gift shop - if someone could write a book about the site to sell it would be most helpful and maybe make some money for the site. We even got to see one of the researchers at work cleaning some bones recovered at the site. This person gave us lots of information we might not have learned. It was a great place - take a picnic lunch as there are no diners or shops nearby. When it was time to go back to town, the gate guard called a Combi for us, and for about 20 pesos a person we were transported back to the center of town.
