On our wonderful adventures touring the northern tip of basse terre we stopped off at plage de Grand Anse for the morning for mostly lounging, taking pictures and eating and drinking...but most of the swimming that day happened just down the road here. Nobody at the beach on a Monday morning and we. Went to the end were the rocks were and had our day. Its a safe beach with calmer water than Grand Anse due to little breaks and tows so it's wonderful for little ones, great snorkeling and also has a natural pool over at the end where we were. Amazing and one of my favs 4 sure.

Captain Max from Blue Lagoon recommended we go here for dejuene after our boat trip. The beach is clean, with lots of available shade and a number of restaurants. The food ar Le Boobooj's was excellent. It was fun to sit under an awning and view the beach while we enjoyed our food.

Most beautiful beach. A tropical picture perfect setting. It is the location of 'The Shack' from the BBC tv-series 'Death in Paradise'. The shack can be found on the beach when they are shooting the episodes. Plage de la Perle is a stunning piece of paradise. There are a few restaurant on the beach, like Madras 2

I love a beautiful beach, and this one is beautiful. But I'm also a fan girl of the BBC show "Death in Paradise" so I was really excited to see the inspector's beach house just sitting there (protected by a fence). We had already been to Deshaies to photograph the Honore Police Station and La Kaz. We enjoyed sitting at a covered picnic table and enjoying the gorgeous view.

Our hotel was in between plage de la pearl and the grande anse beaches. We liked de la pearle much better. Wide open with relatively few people, easy to find a private spot, yet with several charming beachside restaurants at the northern end. Food service goes till about 3pm at de la pearle restaurants, so we had mid afternoon meals watching the beach activity. After 3 it is coffee and drinks and the patrons use it like a Parisian cafe. Coffee and people watching. Grande anse beach has more food options but was quite a bit more crowded, so we quickly made de la pearle our spot. For a unique and local snack, find the cassavaria on a little side street . For 3 euro, they sell a cassava(manioc) based pancake with ham and cheese or coconut. That will hold you till dinner!

Very nice beach. If you go to the north end of the beach it is calmer but when we were there although there were fairly big waves even in the middle it was fine to swim although there is a bit of a pull back. It is the beach where the shack from death in paradise built for each filming.

My family had a few great days at Plage de le Perle while visiting Guadeloupe. The beach is a picture perfect crescent shaped beach with lots of palm trees and ample shade. The beach had a nice sandy bottom and was easy to get in and out. One day the surf was a heavier but once past the shore break it was fine. The beach had several restaurants/beach bars that were good. The water is very clear and snorkeling was ok around the rocks on the north end of the beach.

There are not loungers or chairs for rent so plan accordingly. If you don't like this beach then maybe tropical beaches aren't your cup of tea. Parking is fairly limited so get there by mid morning.

Plage de la Perle is a long stretch of golden brown sand and glimmering turquoise water, named for the small round island just offshore, ressembling a pearl. You can walk the length of the beach looking for traces of a derelict detective's shack, as this beach is one of the sets for the British show "Death in Paradise". Understandably, the set is taken down between series to prevent it from washing away with the tide. The sand is impeccably clean, the beach wide and long, and there is plenty of space for everyone to get their own little corner of paradise. The water is calm and clean, great for wading or wandering, with the waves lapping up higher of certain part of the beach than others - there is even a small freshwater lagoon that drains into the ocean. There are a few canopies along the treeline to provide shade, and several food option near the road access. This is a great place to spend the day.

Perhaps the most beautiful beach in Guadeloupe, and the site of “Jack’s home” from TVs “Death in Paradise”.

Turn right at the brown directional sign when heading south on route N1. It is about three miles before you get to Deshailes.

There is free parking and a few bars and restaurants. Jack’s home is to the left as you enter the beach. It is there during filming (May-September).

Visited beach with family of five and saw turtles being hatched. Great sight which I have only experienced once before at Perhentian Islands in Malaysia.
