We took the two-day rafting trip down the Rangitikei River, from Mokai to Mangaweka, camping riverside one night, enjoying freshly caught trout. The canyon through which the river flows is amazing - rafting is the only way to see it, as the vertical walls rise up high around you. An easy cruise down: no whitewater rapids. If you want to... Tricia and paul were both great and took care of all the extra requests for the perfect cyclist dinner - she made herself! plus the cyclist sized BLT sandwich. A dip in the river the best way to cool off and the bar area is huge. Scenery is unique with Papa cliff faces staring... More

Thanks Paul and his team....especially our guide Fruen for a fantastic light paddle on the river on a beautiful day. We came as strangers but we're welcomed like friends. Great job.....a real hidden kiwi gem.

I would like to highly recommend MAC to those seeking a kiwi experience packed with fun and excitement. We drove up from Wellington the night before and stayed at their lodgings which were very comfortable and reasonably priced. We took this evening time to explore the pristine river and forest surrounding our cabin - just magical. The next morning we... More

It's a little piece of paradise nestled on the Rangitikei river. The water rafting is ok and there are some fantastic historical sites to visit over the bridge.

Awastone is a lovely campground with great facilities in an awesome location beside the river. We also completed the Sandstone kayak trip with guide Anna. Anna was fantastic and obviously a highly skilled guide. The paddle took a couple hours and was totally worth doing - some amazing scenery, only viewed by taking this route - no driving to these...
