We hiked the looped trails on our own using the maps we received at the information center in town. The 11 of us took the shuttle to the park, and enjoyed the beautiful wildflowers, ponds, trees and thjick moss! It was a wondeful experience. The weather was full of variety that day (sun, rain, wind, calm) just like to flora!

Lovely looped walks... to suit all levels of fitness. Best visited in April for the flowers especially the Gentin, fabulous any time of the year. Beautiful views of Connemara on all walks.

We met Tony at the appointed place and he guided us for 2.5 hours through The Burren. His knowledge of the Burren, wildflowers, geology, history and Ireland was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Our guided tour of the Burren with Mary Howard was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. Mary has a wealth of knowledge covering all aspects of the Burren and she loves sharing her knowledge with others. Our three hour guided walk extended to over four hours as we learned of the history and geology of the huge limestone formation that dates from the days of Pangea.

If you are driving yourselves then just pull over, park on the road and take the walk on the Burren. We weren't alone in doing this while we were there (several hours doing the full walk) we saw no less than ten tour buses park and let their passengers out to photograph and witness the feeling first hand. If you had been to the Cliffs of Moher prior to going on the Burren, this venue allows you to feel the power of the surf with the Atlantic crashing onto land. Be careful as we witnessed many people getting soaked as they were not expecting the amount of water coming up and over the edges of the cliffs. A bit further north there is the Fanore beach as well if you want to walk into the water. All in all a place where you can really snap many pictures and videos.
