See the four kingdoms, if it is clear

What a contrast, have been up here 3 times now, never once seen the four kingdoms, England, Scotland, Ireland and the Kingdom of the sea. Sorry Wales you are a principality. You... read more

What a contrast, have been up here 3 times now, never once seen the four kingdoms, England, Scotland, Ireland and the Kingdom of the sea. Sorry Wales you are a principality. You can leave Laxey in brilliant sunshire and end up at athe top in high winds and freezing clouds. But a warm coffee or hot chocolate await so it... More

It was a very nice day trip to come here from Douglas and back. At the end of the line, at the highest point, the fog was thick and could not admire the view, but the trip itself was very pleasant. Inside the restaurant, at the top end of the line, we had a very good lunch with soup, meatballs... More

Great electric train ride to the top that takes about half an hour from Laxey. Best to be on right hand side up to the mountain course/bungalow and then views best on the left. Cafe at the top is expensive, but not ridiculously so. What do you expect on the top of a mountain? Had lovely soup, cakes, hot chocolate... More

Highest point on Isle of Man and Snaefell means Snow Mountain Railways climbs up 2,000 ft and there is a marker showing the surrounding countries of Scotland, Ireland, England & Wales. Can be cold and windy so a hot "cream" tea at the cafe is very welcoming.

We visited Snaefell travelling on The Snaefell Mountain Railway from Laxey. The journey takes 30 minutes with great views and points of interest along the climb to the summit. At the summit a café offers the basics – hot drinks and snacks – and a chance to warm up. Our visit was on a cool and breezy October day. If... More

Check out the views from the summit, you can see for miles on a clear day. The cafe is nice and has a gift shop.

Although not particularly comfortable it is a must if visiting he Isle of Man. The views were stunning and at the top there is also a cafe for tea/coffee and food

This is part of the electric railway network and my train from Douglas connected with a train up the mountain. The train runs from Laxey to Snaefell (the mountain) with a stop almost near the top called the Bungalow. The trip to the top takes 30 minutes or so. It is covered by the 'go explore' ticket or you can... More

There is very little at the top of the 'mountain' but it has great views of the 7 Kingdoms, as they say in Mann, weather permitting. If not there's a WWII fighter, some sheep and a few masts. The café is pretty basic with ridiculously inflated prices considering it is really not that far up from the road (Bungalow Station/TT... More

It was a fabulous day and we still felt wind battered. Brilliant views on the way up. They slow so you can see the Laxey Wheel and we had to stop and cross the road by foot bridge as there was racing on when we visited which only added to the adventure and experience! Our conductor was really friendly and... More
