Kezmarok Castle
Sep 2020 • Couples
Located at the end of the road running through the town with all its shops, restaurants and covered eating areas.

Quaint little castle with the main museum and Vintage
Car museum. It has a permanent stage for live performances along with a lovely bar restaurant called Cierna Pani where you can sit and enjoy the inside of the castle grounds.

Nice historical visit

Guided tours in Slovakian. You can follow with a guide in different languages. Can not visit on a self guided walk through, so the tour takes a while.

Parking is available nearby and walking distance to center of town.

Good and Informative

First of all, you need to ensure that you book or arrive in time for a guided tour. The tour I had was in Slovakian, but I had an English booklet so it was not too bad. The castle is beautiful and has beautiful views. It was also interesting to learn about the many cultures that have influenced Kezmarok and the surrounding area.

A stop for a walk around and have lunch
Apr 2018 • Family
During our staying in Slovakia on our way to Lubovnia stopped in the city of Kežmarok to meet friends from Poland. Spend in the town app. 3 hours to see tle old town, the castle and to have a lunch. The city is quite calm, some places to have a drink and walk around without huge expectations but worth to stop in if you are in that area at least for an hour or two.

The castle is a little but "over renovated" ... we did not feel the history and the "spirit" is more as a nice protocolar building with some history. The great surprise was the "Kežmarska Resturacia" situated at the end of the main street of the city center close to the castle - the building on the corner. It was crowded and we were 4 adults and 5 kids ... but still we were served in less than 45 minutes, the food was excellent and the personnel very disposable and kind.

A place is worth to be visited and have a lunch there.

Mice town castle

Kezmarok Castle is quite nice to see. It was renovated and it has nice exhibitions regarding the history of Kezmarok and owners of the castle. They have also outdoor activities happening there during the summer like concerts or theatre. Just check at the entrance. It would be nice to have a guide also in English but they gave us the script so we could follow the guide.

Beautifully preserved

The castle is beautiful, well preserved and it is well worth going to the exhibition inside on the history of the castle and town.

Nothing special
Aug 2018 • Family
There are some historical exhibitions inside the Castle connected with a Castle history as well as Kezmarok history. There are some commercial things at the bailey which do not make a proper historical climate.

Nice medieval castle poor guide
Jul 2018 • Family
The building is very nice and well preserved. It can be visited in groups, but the size of the group was not considered, though certain rooms were quite small. The other problem was that the guide did not speak English so it was not only difficult to follow the group but very boring also.

Beautiful castle awful guide
Jul 2018
Beautiful Historical castle but the experience is ruined with the awful guide. Guided tour was given only in Slovakian language ( the only option to see the castle) If you want to make a guided tour at least learn a European language!!!
Also I found it very sad that no information given in Hungarian in the castle of Thököly family
