Climb is the Highlight
Feb 2020 • Couples
The lagoon itself is pretty cool, we didn't swim in the stagnant water for many reasons however. The real treat is the climb down to the lagoon which is real fun and a little challenging. Would recommend a visit, be wary of time and last boat back.

Relatively tough / uneasy hike
Mar 2020
After hiking to the viewpoint the lagoon is only a few hundred metres extra BUT the way to it is down fairly large, sometimes vertical rock faces where you have to make use of ropes of questionable quality and maintenance.
Only recommended if you're OK with heights, rocks and ropes as you have no safety gear.
Going down is scarier than coming up but its worth the walk IF you're fit and brave enough.

The lagoon is beautiful, but the climb is the fun part

Semi-strenuous hike/climb up, and then down, with a beautiful payoff. (And then up and back down on return.) Be prepared to get dirty, even on a dry day.

Worth it!

Me and my girlfriend took the trip without any preparations! We had shoes, cap, bag everything. The sand/mud will stain your clothes, be awere.
Use your feet, bring water and cool down in the lagoon!

Beautiful, but strenous.

Be prepared for a long hike with a lot of challenging climbing and sweat! The lake is a beautiful place, but it is very muddy and difficult to reach and get around. The water is cold and nice to swim in, but not deep and the ground is sharp.

Go, but go prepared! Dont wear white clothes or flip flops😋

The lagoon is pretty cool but it's the climbing that is the most fun!!

Yes the lagoon is ok, it's not the most amazing place to be but the climbing down and up is really good fun.

Try be a little bit fit to do this, wear proper shoes to give your feet the best chance of not being cut.

Swim as a reward and then dry off to sweat again on the way back out!

Great view+ good exercise!

Fantastic spot if you have the confidence to climb down! View point was a fairly simple climb, but it is a challenging climb down to the lagoon. I am not an experienced climber, but you definitely need fitness and a bit of confidence as the climb down is basically vertical.
Would definitely recommend for an adventure whilst in Railay!

Fun climbing
Jan 2020
From the road to Phra Nang beach there is the climb to the view point over Railay and down the lagoon. It is better to go with good weather, because it is not a road for everyone, you have to climb on the rocks. You better go with sport shoes or bare feet, I saw people in flip flops but that's just stupid. If you have no experience it's better not to go, but if you love mountains you don't need to be a climber (like the ones on the beach) and it's very funny and maybe you will love more the road than the lagoon itself.

Great experience but physical fitness needed!
Dec 2019 • Couples
Great experience but one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do did not expect the extent of the climb up or down but it was so rewarding to, first, get to the view point on Railay beach, then second, to get to the lagoon. It really is stunning.
Yes other comments acknowledge the water isn’t as clear but come on there’s no denying how beautiful the lagoon is! I would recommend wearing shoes and not flip flops!
