Long, very steep & risky walk
Aug 2020 • Couples
Absolutely horrible “beach day” experience. Not worth all the fuss and risks of accessing it via a VERY STEEP slippery path (30 - 45 mins) and high tides which makes it impossible to stay on the sand. It’s only good to take a picture from the viewpoint which truly looks good but that’s about it. This beach is not suitable for a “beach day”. Lesser but still important - no public toilet nor shower although you can use the nearby beach bar which has a toilet.

1. Access from parking -
The parking is at the top of the hill. Walk to the beach from the parking is LONG and STEEP.
- For going to the beach we took the longer path hoping it would be less steep but it still was quite steep and it took around 30 mins.
- For the walk back from the beach to the parking we used the “shorter” path which was insanely steep and I was scared that if anyone slips they would be rolling down with all their beach stuff (bags, fridge, chairs, etc). It took around 45 mins and by the end of it you’re so exhausted that you realize the beach is NOT worth all this fuss and risk.

2. Beach and sand -
We went around 4pm and the tides were so high that you don’t get any area on the sand available to sit on. You have to sit on the rocks and unless you sit very high in the rocks you will still be under the risk of getting all your stuff wet by the tides. If you see pictures you see a lot of sand in the beach - from the mirador it seems big but don’t believe those.

I would not count on the other reviews. It was supposed to be a calm beach day but with the misinformation about the access to the beach from the parking, having no information about the tides, etc made it the worst beach experience. We would not come to this beach ever again unless it’s only for a picture from the mirador.

Spectacular beach with nice sand and not crowded
Aug 2020 • Family
This beach is probably one of the best in the area. Although you have to walk a little bit from parking it’s worth doing it. The view is amazing, the sea is quite, there is a bar with all facilities. So it’s perfect for couples, for families with kids, etc.

WATCH OUT! PARKING TICKET.
Aug 2019
There are lots of really nice beaches in the North of Spain. This is for sure a very big and nice beach. Just be sure to park your car in a proper parking spot. This area has just a view of them and because other cars parked next to the road (which still huuuge space for cars to pass by in 2 directions) so did I. I got a fine: 200 EURO!!!
They just billed me, telling me I can get 50% discount on the fine if I pay it in 20 days. So I have to pay 100 EURO. Also, I was in this beach 10 months ago 2019 and they send me the fine June 2020. Thank you, but there were enough other really great beaches where there are lots of parking spots for free.

Fabulous
Aug 2018 • Family
Amazing. Takes some effort to get there without the use of a car, but well worth it. We visited by the local tourist bus and a walk from nearby Celorio, and this added to the experience. Approaching the beach from the top of the cliff is really dramatic. It's beautiful. Reminds me of Cornwall and Pembrokeshire.

The beach is sandy and gently shelving. I imagined it as a surf beach but the waves cannot be described as rollers, and my kids enjoyed it.

The beach bar is excellent. Don't expect 5 star food, but considering where it is, and the inaccessibility, the food is remarkable! Tapas, Kas, and beer went down very well thank you. It also serves cold drinks and beer which is needed after a long walk. You may need to wait for a table though.

The naturism is not oppressive, it's a great spot to do what you want. Myself and my family joined in, but don't feel obliged.

There are tickets issued by the local Police when the lanes are obstructed by parked cars, so beware. However, keep going up the track and you will find a larger parking area by the weather station. There's more room but a longer walk from here.

I'm going back this year - looking forward to it.

Beautiful beach
Sep 2018
This is a beach straight out of postcards (from a distance at least) - absolutely stunning! Getting closer you’ll discover it is a nudist beach, but as others have noted it’s not obligatory so there no reason to be put off it you’d rather keep your costume on - many others did.

We parked on the headland between Torimbia and Toranda beach (to the East). This is reached by a fine road running up the hill from Niembru. There is a tiny car park, but this was full so we followed others’ lead and parked on the road. We then walked down to the beach (20 mins on a wide track).

Beware: we came back to find a photocopied note claiming to be from the local police saying our parking had been notified to the authorities. There were no “no parking” signs so I suspect more likely to be disgruntled residents (and no sign of an actual parking ticket). But I’d have preferred to park elsewhere and walked in for longer if I’d know it was a source of local ire.

Stunning beach
Aug 2018 • Family
This was the most stunning beach we visited in Asturias. It is a long hike from the parking to get down to the beach itself, but the views from the hike are all part of the experience. It is a fully nude beach, so be advised. While we had no problem with that (and no one cared that we were not nude) some people may be uncomfortable. The only thing to warn you about is that you should bring your own food if you plan to eat. While there is a snack shack on the beach, I highly advise that you avoid it at all cost. My wife made the mistake of buying a chorizo bocadillo and it made her very ill. Enjoy the beach, but don't touch the food!

Ends of the earth where sea meets sky
Oct 2017 • Couples
Playa de Torimbia in Llanes Northern Spain is the most amazing quiet beach with far reaching land meets sea meets sky views.

Wonderful to walk blustery and breezy.

Amazing views
Sep 2017 • Friends
This beach is amazing, especially if you manage to visit on a sunny day. Also check how the tide is as Asturias does experience great changes in tides. I would recommend to stay for a few hours, perhaps bringing some food to be able to just relax and enjoy the views. You can either go down to the beach or also check the views higher on the road. You cannot drive down to the beach.

If you happen to be in Asturias, don't miss out on this amazing spot. It's a bit hard to get there, you definitely need a car, but totally worth it. It's a nudist beach, so bear that in mind
