A 30 minutes au nord de Carcassonne (Aude), Venez decouvrir la Magie du Papier! Dans le dernier moulin a papier en activite du Languedoc. Chaque jour, des feuilles de papier sortent de l'atelier de fabrication, papier a base de chiffons, crottin d'elephant, rafles de raisins, posidonie ... L'atelier produit ainsi de nombreux articles de correspondance et attirent graveurs, peintres, typographes, editeurs... Creation a la demande. Visite commentee (1 heure) sur l'histoire du papier et sa fabrication, les machines anciennes (piles hollandaises, meuleton) et les moteurs hydrauliques (roue a augets, turbine). Demonstration de fabrication de papier a la forme a main. Ateliers Decouverte pour tous : Apres la visite, initiation a la fabrication, dans l'atelier, enfants et adultes peuvent realiser a la forme a main leurs feuilles de papier filigranees qu'ils emportent apres la seance. Atelier d'impression en monotype (Atelier Traces) Boutique : cartes de correspondance, faire-part, livre d'or, papier aquarelle, gravure...

It was a really interesting I didn't know you can make paper from almost anything with fibres a good place to visit and it doesn't matter what time of year you go.

Last working paper mill using traditional methods. Excellent guided tour by the owner who speaks clear French and sufficient English for those who struggle with the language. Good way to spend an hour in the black mountain with other places of interest (Saissac, Montolieu) nearby.
