We visited the monastery while staying in Jarandilla de la Vera. It is in a spectacular setting, and was a fantastic site to visit the history of early 16th Century Spain and Charles V. The ipad audioguides were very helpful and insightful, and well worth...More

It might just be me but I like attractions like this. The huge galleries and museums of the world can be hard work due to the massive scale, but museums such as this - limited scale; single theme - can be so much more rewarding...More

A restored monastery could go either way, this was a beautiful find. Beautiful drive, lots of unexpected historical significance, and just the right amount of restoration. Also not crowded so one can enjoy. Don't miss the relics and the crypt. The overall experience-well worth it.

Lovely building in a superb setting. Not much info about Carlos one of the most famous kings of Spain. The setting is superb. However the plae had its toilets locked in the heights of summer! Bagnos/Aseos cerrados en Julio???! Que desastre
