We had an enjoyable visit. The views from the ramparts were impressive, as were the interiors of the living quarters. Also enjoyed the kitchen. This is a pleasant private chateau.

guided tours in French with some English, but good booklet in english given out to read

Very interesting Chateau, long history and still lived in. Free wine tasting afterwards and gardens give a good view of the surrounding area

Very pleasant and interesting visit

A fine example of a chateau's life over the centuries. Inside is guided, in French, but you can have a very good written explanation. Walking around the gardens, paths and walls is very pleasant and do try the wine - worth bringing a few bottles home!

Nice Structure

I went with my English speaking family in July 2019, it was a beautiful structure in a very cute town. Parking was easy, right out front, and the tour started promptly and was very informative. Everyone on our tour was French speaking so the guide gave the tour in French and gave us a handout to read in English that effectively followed along with her script. While that might not be everyone's cup of tea, I found it very informative and did not feel like I missed out on any information by not speaking French.

The castle has nice views, cool history, and beautifully medieval architecture.

Stopped off in Montreuil Bellay during our trip South. Great choice. The place is lovely and the chateau very imposing. Nice church within the chateau grounds.

A very attractive castle in a sleepy little village.

The village of Montreuil-Bellay is a quiet, sleepy little haven that is dominated by this very attractive, turreted chateau that looks like something Walt Disney would dream about.

Certainly worth a visit and a lazy stroll if you are in the area.
