Very safe, good restaurants at reasonable prices, friendly people. Far less expensive than Hawaii or the Carrabean

Bucerias is one of the small towns along the coast north of Puerto Vallarta. There are many galleries, rental condos, and superb local restaurants. Of note Sandrinas, Rosa Restaurante Mexicano, Marks, Miguel Angel. Easy to get to by taxi from either PV or Nueva Vallarta.

If you're in the Banderas Bay you must definitely check out Bucerias, it's a 20-30 minute walk from the Riu's and Decameron. You can stroll the beach until you get there or walk the cable stone roads. Nice artisan market and bars and restaurants. Be sure to catch the amazing sunset from the beach.

From our hotel (Riu Palace Pacifico) Bucerias was a $7 cab ride away w/ plenty of flea market shops for your gift buying. There and back between breakfast and lunch!

We go every year, usually twice. Awesome local people. I enjoy the local kids on the beach and in town. I always bring a huge supply of colouring books, crayons, bubbles, stickers, toys etc for them. The local restaurants/pubs are a must! Food is great! We love the market where you can get anything for "almost free" LOL...love that one!... More

So some friends of ours we met on a cruise live part of the year in Bucerias where they split and bought a large home with another Canadian couple. So we headed down for a visit. Very friendly little town, lots of English spoken but they really don't want either American or Canadian dollars so grab some pesos. A lot... More

Visited today whilst it was quiet. This resulted in being collered by every shop owner in a desperate attempt by them to get a sale. Nice pretty yet poor place, and worth a visit as its different from the norm

I rented a car and drove to this tiny town of Bucerias. It has some fancier, beack-side restaurants and a beach full of boats and locals. You will also find some resorts and beach rental homes, dotted along the sands.

There is a touristy market and some AWESOME taco stands. As usual the market vendors are pretty pushy but fun none the less! Not a lot of space to explore but a good couple of hours.
