Nice to get out of city of PV to see nature. Lots of fish, not so much coral. Water clean and safe. Only about 15 minutes of snorkeling. Paddleboarded and kayaked. Our excursion included stop at different beach for volleyball. Fun time.

I went over with Cruceros Beachboy, and I really enjoyed my day with them. The host, Dongato, obviously really cares about this area.

The islands are beautiful, the birds plentiful, and the snorkeling wonderful. Also, if you're out in the bay at the right time of year (roughly December through March), there's a good chance you'll see plenty of humpback whales breaching and competing to mate.

There wasn't one that I saw and we asked specifically, because i agree that less than 5 hours would be nice. The reason we were told was because it took about 1.5 hours each way just to reach the islands... Hope this helps.

Vallarta Adventures is one but you need to do it about 3 weeks in advance. They are very specific in write up so make sure it is with access to the hidden beach. Mexico government only allows about 30 people to visit per day... More
