Great Visit and Worth stopping by
Jul 2019 • Family
Besides the Grotta being so great the point is that was a rainny day! The tour takes around one hour and you can go on a quick guided tour.

Beautiful, interesting and impressive
Jul 2019 • Family
As I read the posts about this famous sightseeing place to visit, I was kind of discouraged to go. It was one single raining day so we took our chance and must say I am glad we did!!!! The cave is mandatorily guided and the guide speaks Italian and English fluently. The queue was organized and relatively quick. The cave is indeed big and has lots of story and formations to be seen. Definitely worth a visit and its fame.

If you like caves - this one is easy to access and the scenery around it is nice
Jul 2019 • Friends
We parked here on a REALLY hot day, and paid our 6 euros each to walk in to the cave (about a 30 minute round trip). We didn't join the tour group, so probably missed out on interesting information - but it was a good way to kill half an hour and the entrance to the cave / colour of the water was gorgeous. The cave is fine (I am not a big fan of caves as it turns out!) - but would only do it if you have time to spare. Easily accessible which is a plus, and you dont need to go on a boat to get to it.

You cannot swim into the cave
Jun 2019 • Family
Some reviews are seriously rubbish. Do not think you can swim into it. If you want to see inside, you HAVE TO BUY A 5€ ticket and wait for the OBLIGATORY guide which leads her group inside every 15mins. I hate guides, the rambling on and on, when really you can see the entire cave in 5mins. We had an italian guide who was too slow .... kept insisting we all gather around before her speech. Drove me insane. Then we had people insisting on english being spoken which delayed things further. The final stop is the biggest part of the cave but sadly with awful grafitti. My son and I left the group at this point and went out ourselves. You can swim FREE in the sea near to the caves, but forget getting close. The swimming pool costs about 7euros a person and is sea water , and clean. Pretty views. There is a restaurant and a few kiosks. You have to pay for parking, cash or card.

Beautiful - even in January!
Jan 2019 • Family
I was so hoping to see inside the cave itself but due to the weather (in January), the sea was too rough and the cave itself was closed to access. Shame because I had heard such good things about it. Even so, the views around the bay were really lovely. I must try and come again in the summer.

Nice little cave
Aug 2018
This is a nice little cave next to a deep blue sea. If you go in summer it is nice to go inside and profit from the cooler temperature. When you exit, you are going to appreciate the deep blue sea. You need to pay for entrance and if you want to visit the Grotta Azzurra by boat you need to pay separately. It is a bit pricey but very beautiful The visit doesn't last much. Bring your swimming suit and have a nice swim next to the cave.

Bought the grotto tour so you don’t need to!
Oct 2018 • Couples
We unknowingly bought a tour of the Grotto at the top of the entrance thinking you had to to be able to swim there, but you don’t. The whole tour was in Italian, of course, and it was not different to any other grotto/limestone cave around.

Pretty cool!
Sep 2018 • Couples
English was not our guide's strong point, but she did a decent job explaining the background. Interesting to see the rock formations and former levels of guano, and see all the dates of people who had cleaned it up! We didn't do the boat trip, but did enjoy a dip in the ocean just outside of the grotto entrance!

Worth a visit but nothing special
Sep 2018 • Couples
We stopped here on the way to Castro. Our guide didn’t speak English, but they helpfully gave us a translation to look at.
Worth a visit and certainly is cool inside.
