If you happen to go to San Francisco, Sacramento, Carson City or any other destination within a few hours drive of Lake Tahoe, do not miss the opportunity to visit specially Emerald Bay Park. Photos can hardly do justice but still better than words.

Even on a cold day the parking lot to the scenic overlook was jammed with photo bugs. The roads were not icy when we went Thanksgiving week, but I would definitely not want to go there with icy roads. So many hairpin curves, and the roads edge was right next to a steep drop off. This was the steepest drop... More

Do not miss if you are in Tahoe. Beautiful drive from Stateline. Amazing views. Check out Eagle Falls; easy walk to great views of the falls & lake.

Go up the trekking trail from emerald bay, you will find incredible views (go for the "desolation wilderness" path). save energies, is a very good walk up to the top. But the views are just breathless....

Its an amazing view. We did complete round of Lake Tahoe, its worth. We loved the hiking near Emrald Bay. Eagle Falls, very sweet water. My son loved the whole place. The driving is fun also.

Great view! Went on a weeknight in November, no issues with parking at all. No hiking needed to see the amazing view, but if you can climb a few rocks there are some good views of the waterfall as well. Very easy to get to. $10 parking. For an even better view of the island, use the highway shoulder heading... More

Emerald Bay is completely gorgeous! Beautiful emerald green water just as the name suggests. We did not hike to the bay but rather took a boat cruise around it due to time. (Look for my boat cruise review there). This is completely worth the trip if you're in Lake Tahoe!

Very beautiful and scenic place to visit. I gave 4 star rating. Reduced 1 star only because of issue with parking. Most of the scenic views on route doesn't have proper parking. So if you go in busy season you either park very far or miss some views.

Was advised to drive up by the receptionist at the Lakeland Village. Not disappointed in the slightest - this is the definition of a beauty spot!

I've been living in California for 16 years and I feel like a total loss for not visiting Lake Tahoe sooner. It's just so amazingly beautiful for all nature lovers. I will definitely return. Bring bottle water, hats, hiking shoes, and sunscreen.
