Thoroughly enjoyed the presentation at the heritage Center in Kiltyclogher. It included fascinating background information about Kiltyclogher, Sean and the 1916 uprising. The tour of Sean's childhood home was fantastic because the cottage is virtually unchanged since his day and has been beautifully maintained. If you are visiting lovely Leitrim be sure and make time to visit Kiltyclogher Heritage Centre and Sean MacDiarmada Homestead. Ciaran is so full of knowledge and has a genuine love of the history of the area you will feel that you have stepped back in time and know the characters that he brings to life. Both Ciaran and Joe were generous with their welcome, their time and their information. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable visit. Many thanks.…

A fine example of what Irish life was like 100 years ago. Nothing has been changed since Sean lived there. Particularly fascinating was a book of Sean's writings from school. Well worth a visit

Many thanks to Joe our tour guide for a very interesting and interactive tour of this house. The turf fire that gets lit leaves a smell which helps to imagine what life was like for the family at the time. Joe went above and beyond with an informed visit and showed us the beautiful surrounding countryside. It was a great experience in what was a wonderful weekend in this village. I have attached some photos of photographs and washing basins etc. But they don’t do justice to how good this tour was. Many thanks…
