What you read is what you get- grasslands. However, there was a wonderful prairie dog town. the roads are all dirt and not the smoothest. A burrowing owl was seen in the prairie dog town.

I had planned to get to Grasslands a number of times and finally made it this Fall. It was quite different from our usual camping experience. It is a bit of a drive, on gravel roads, to get from the Park office to the Park/campground....More

From bison and reptiles to the lichen, the grasslands are an amazing mix of life. I would really recommend a good hike in the park. Very beautiful scenery and you never know when you'll see something new.

I'd been wanting to visit Grasslands for a while - and I was not disappointed. What a beautiful place. Farmland rolling up to the buttes and coulees of the park. I just couldn't get enough of the views. It's not what I'm used to in...More

We rented a tipi for two nights during the Labour Day long weekend. Our goal was to do as little as possible while maximizing our time out at the West Block. We are avid campers and have been tweaking our ability to camp as a...More

We did a very quick 2-day trip of the park. We spent one day (4-5 hours) in the West Block, doing two 1-hour walking trails and the EcoTour drive. The second day we spent a similar amount of time at the East Block, on a...More

This national park definitely represents the prairie landscape. There's a lot of prairie animals, you can easily spot them throughout the park. The park has a scenic drive route, it is quite a nice 1 hour drive around if you don't like hiking. Most of...More

Beautiful views, no matter which direction you face! We found the maps given to us from the staff very helpful, and the locations very easy to find. Roads are bumpy, but got us there safely. Will return again and again.

Parks Canada has a winner here. The land is rolling, short-grass prairie that takes you back in time. With the buffalo herds, antelope, deer and prairie dogs, you can easily imagine being here centuries ago. Parks Canada did a good job with maps, signage, trails...More

Loved this national park. It was so quiet and peaceful. Saw groups of prairies dogs, roaming bison, found fossils, and enjoyed the skies and scenery.

A lot of the park is accessed via a vehicle, so you could see quite a bit of the park through the vehicle. There are paths, but most are not paved so it may be difficult to push a wheelchair. It is quite flat, however

This park tries to keep the light pollution to a minimum, but you are still able to use your flashlights/headlights.

Wifi is found in some establishments in towns like Val Marie, such as the Convent Inn. The park itself is remote with even cell service unavailable. The park posts warnings about that for hikers.
