One of Québec’s best-kept secrets and one of the most spectacular view of the Old Town. Located at the heart of Old Québec City, the ride (one-way) takes about 12 minutes. During summertime, discover the marked bike paths located on both sides of the shore: Corridor du Littoral (Quebec City) and Parcours des Anses (Lévis). In winter, the mouvement of the ice on the St. Lawrence River is truly impressing.

We were advised to catch this ferry and observe Quebec from the other side of the river. This is a vehicle ferry that is used by the locals and runs at half hourly intervals. The return fare is just over $7 per person and there...More

My friend and I took the ferry to Levis just so we could get shots of the city and the hotel La Chateau Frontenac at night. It was amazing to see how the city looks at night from the St. Lawrence River. We did not...More

This must be the cheapest way of getting a view of the city from the river - three dollars each each way for seniors. The service is half hourly and the only real downside is that there is no commentary.

Cars load on the waterfront and cross the river. We rested on the rampart and watched the cars load onto the ferry. Then the ferry left am moved across the river. Then another ferry came and the cars left the ferry. If we had time...More

Well organized though not cheap: you can have a nice view of old Quebec from the river, although once you are on the other side there is not much to see and to do...

We stayed at Place d'Armes, a boutique hotel across the street from the Chateau Frontenac. If you walk down the steps to the bottom of the escarpment, the ferry arrives and departs right there.

A google search of the ferry shows prices from $8.40-$16.50 depending on the size of your vehicle. That includes the driver but I believe each additional person in the car pays. Google will lead you to the website for a more... More
