When you think of an Irish pub, this is what comes to mind. Hurley's is exactly what you want an Irish pub to be. The rooms are small and confusing. There are multiple levels with different bars. Some rooms have working fireplaces. Some rooms have dart boards. Others have tvs. Behind the ground floor bar are patches of fire departments... More

Best pour of Guinness in Montreal. Great live music and friendly atmosphere. If you love Irish Pubs and music Hurley's should definitely be on your pub crawl list!

We always seem to find an Irish pub no matter where we travel. This was exactly like a place you would find in Ireland. We went for a poutine and found our way back for live Trad music later in the evening. Service was great, beer and whiskey selection was great. The music was fun. The poutine was awesome.

Always a good time. My favorite pub in Montreal. Live music all the time. Fun staff! Not joking about the Guinness. The master Brewer from Dublin said so, really. All ages seem to mingle together perfectly.

I am a life long Habs fan, and deliberately seek out the pub environment for game night so I can celebrate with like minded fans. À colleague told me to do Hurleys Upstairs, and I am glad I did! The food was good, the beer and whisky selection was great, and there appeared to be a single waitress on the... More

What a great pub - awesome selection of Scotch and endless number of beers on Tap. The bartenders (Erin and Diane) were absolutely fantastic (and cute) ..and Alex the doorman (what a great guy). If you're looking for a great local pub where everyone gets to be themselves and not fake, this is the pub to visit! ...and oh ya,... More

Any time we are in downtown Montreal, we always go to Hurley's. The live music is fantastic - in fact several years ago Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea showed up and performed for 2 hours! The atmosphere is fun and my husband enjoys their selection of beer on tap. A fun place to be!!

Found this place by accident when looking for another bar down the street where we were meeting up with folks later that evening. Mark, the bar tender, was very welcoming and informative and gave us some good pointers on the local beers and things to see. Will definitely call in again when in town.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
