Didn't live up to its reputation.

Simply the best afterhours you will see around. Sound system is insane, people are nice and super loving, some people complain about the fact that they got their gum confiscated. Stereo does not sell gum in their vending machine the readon why they do so is because they don't want gum on their floors. I agree with this policy since... More

clean, friendly staff, great music, would definitely come back. Everything lived up to my expectations. The whole place was very modern and the dancing was fun.

Stereo has an amazing reputation and being from Toronto we have all heard that this is one of the best clubs in North America .... I came here to see Chus and ceballos, and I was somewhat disappointed. Everyone seemed really nice, and friendly. Minus the fact that the bouncers are literally harassing you about not taking pictures. One bouncer... More

The last time I came here you can smoke in clubs. So I was here before the fire. The entrance hasn't changed much. The addition of drink machines is a great addition. The giant disco ball is still there which is great. The light show has improved significantly and the sound system was as good or better than before. The... More

Intolerable. I took friends from the US here and I was so depressed and embarrassed. They took my GUM at the entrance because they considered it contraband aka they sell it in their vending machines and want you to buy it. Having gum confiscated out of my pocket was actually the most classically grotesque Montreal experience and it made me... More

A huge space like nightclubs in NYC used to be. This spot boasts some hot parties that go well into after hours territory. The crowd is totally mixed which I love. No prejudices or issues everyone Gay, Straight, Bi, Trans, Black, White, Latino here just to dance and party like the good ole days.

5 Bouncers beat my boyfriend and almost CHOKED HIM TO DEATH! They have no right to use force like that! This establishment must cease operations! DO NOT GO THERE!

I went there this weekend to see Chus and Ceballos. They were amazing but that was about it. They have new bouncers all of the nice people who I used to know do not work there anymore. The ladies at the coat check are always nice and pleasant. Bouncers have such attitude. At one point I was minding my business... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
