Closing time is 3am sharp. Not sure if this a Montreal law or their own choice as on saturday the club was still packed. The day after, the evening before labour day, we went again and there was (to our suprise) waaaay less busy. Atmosphere is okay, music in EDM room are mostly altered versions of songs you known with... More

Quick stop for some drinks as we walked rue Saint Catherine. First waitress couldn't speak English but our second waiter was great. Very friendly. We ordered a single pitcher of sangria and cranberry vodkas. Both good. Not too strong alcohol wise which depending on the person could be good or bad! Went up to the roof top Terrance but was... I was there with a friend to catch up on the past five years we spent apart and right from the start, the waiter couldn't help himself but being super flirty even thought we weren't responding to that type of interaction. We would just say "thanks" to his compliments, nothing more. He came to our table more often than necessary,... More

I was surprised at how reasonable the price of drinks was! The bar itself has lots of space to dance, and lots of cool hangout nooks as well. It was a shame that the rooftop patio wasn't open the whole night.

Gay, straight, old, young, all colours and creeds welcome here: LOVE this place. The 3 discotheques are fantastic, drinks are cheap or reasonable. The rooftop patio in the summer is AMAZING. Do visit for the free/friendly vibe.

I was hear on a summer week day and the roof top deck is huge and overlooks the street. The rest of the bar is huge and each floor appeared to offer a different theme.

It's the people that make this place great. Again this time, I met some wonderful guys with whom I had great conversations. Best time to go is late afternoon when the music is low and the place feels so relaxed. With the open windows onto the street, you feel like you're sitting outdoors.

Unity is poor now because on on Saturday night it was EMPTY, and staff are RUDE. My drink was gone before I was done drinking it. We left for Sky and there we had lots of fun, good music variety in different rooms, packed with people. No cover! Unity charges cover. It's ridiculous!

Great place with great prices. Whether stopping for a drink on the terasse, sharing a pitcher of sangria on the rooftop bar or dancing the night away, there is something for everyone. The crowd is always great and diverse. The music is also great and there are several rooms to chose from. A great place in the villlage to party... More

Let's start with tempering with the drink. Serving half vodka and water! Stingy or selling cheap drinks I don't get it. Beer plenty of it around ! The place stinks in different areas... The waiters are rude and inexperienced beside their own "looks" and the attitude... This place is patched up but the second floor shakes when people dance. I've... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
