Hands down one of the loudest and most exciting places to see hockey in the world. Not a bad seat in the place. Modern stadium with free wifi and best to come to the game by metro in the heart of downtown parking limited. Check out the youpeeville in the basement area with your younger children and then just up... More

We had a great time watching the Montreal Canadiens play at the Bell Centre in late December. Unfortunately the Canadiens lost but the atmosphere was amazing.

Went to see the Rangers play the Canadiens and what a great time! These are real fans who sing the national anthem loud and proud, and who stay for the entire game. Great seats on center ice, and as we left it began to snow. Just wonderful!

Went to a Habs game back in March 2009. I took the underground tunnel from the Marriott to the game. Extremely handy, especially because it was still cold out. I walked to the Canadiens boutique the day before which was also a short distance from the hotel. Lots of seating. Really nice arena even coming after 20 years. Kept in... More

Great high energy atmosphere. Make sure you see a popular team or rivalry game, it will be electric. Awesome show.

Saw the Rangers Canadiens game here this weekend. It was disappointing that the Rangers didn't win but, the crowd was loud and boisterous and no one gave me a hard time for wearing my Rangers gear in Montreal!

Saw Montreal -vs- Rangers what a great game. The only way to watch the NHL really. Great way to spend the night

Hockey is best experienced live and the Centre Bell is a must go-to spot to see the Canadien's skate. The complex is impressive and the show they put on is well worth the ticket price. About the only negative I've experienced, beside the expense of the concessions that you find at all athletic arenas, are the seats. These babies are... More

I have been to every NHL arena except two others and Bell Center was one of the more disappointing experiences in terms of the amenities. My seat for the Candiens/Rangers game was on the club level which included food and non-alcoholic beverages and coat check (Yay!) Some arenas are well planned so as to minimize overcrowding on the concourses but... More

A must visit place for any Habs fan or fan of hockey in general. Great atmosphere and passion in the building. Be sure to go early to take in the monuments and sites in and around the Bell Centre

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
