Located on Ile Notre-Dame, the 4.361 km-long Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve hosts the Grand Prix du Canada, as well as biking, in-line skating, jogging and walking enthusiasts! PARTIAL CLOSURE The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will be partially closed to cyclists, pedestrians and inline skates enthusiasts from May 15 to September 4, 2017 due to the mounting, the hosting and demounting of major events, to maintenance work done on the circuit in preparation for the Grand Prix du Canada, and to the STM bus circuit to Jean-Dore beach. This partial closure means two things: • The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will be accessible to cyclists, pedestrians and inline skates enthusiasts for only 43 non consecutive days this summer, from May 15 to September 4, 2017. Visite the Parc Jean-Drapeau website for the detailed schedule. • A portion of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the "Hairpin" area, will be inaccessible at all time time from May 15 to September 4, 2017.

This race track is conveniently located on a manmade island in the middle of the St. Laurence river. It is easily accessed via the metro train system.

A must see for any F1 fan. We went during the summer, so part of the track was closed, but we were able to get into the pit area, walk along and even drive most of the track. Got to see the wall of Champions...More

We came here for the F1 this year and we certainly had an incredible time. The circuit is awesome! My only advice is if you are a wheelchair user or companion to seriously consider your travel to and from the circuit. We decided to arrive...More

We can take a drive through the circuit to experience the thrills of F1 driving. A little difficult to locate the site, as the turn is a sharp one off a bridge.

We went to the 2017 race in June. This circuit is beginning to show its age and although it can produce good racing, the circuit facilities, trade stands, eating outlets and other activities are all becoming tightly squashed and inadequate, by comparison to other more...More

A great place to run, walk, bike. Your training days will be different from what you are used to. The sensation to run in a real Formula 1 circuit is unique.

The setting is beautiful, on an island, in a beautiful park. You don’t mind the walk from the Metro as you literally walk over the river and through the woods, and past the lake, to get to your seats on the race course. The course...More

I went back to beautiful Montreal for my first F1 race. Amazing-simply overwhelming experience. The track is on a beautiful island across from the Old Port Montreal . Everywhere you will see reminders of the 1967 world fair Expo. Other than the jets flying over...More

The circuit is actually open for hiking, skating etc. It's for free! It's so cool to bike that circuit... I'm not a fan of formula 1, but this was pretty amazing! :)

I believe there are just the bixi bicycles which can get quite expensive if you have them out a long time. You can rent in old Montreal and bike to and over the bridge to the North (can't recall name). A bit longer but... More

Yes you can, at all times; I have brought one every day I've gone, every year I've gone. They do check it, though.
