On entering you appreciate the scale of the building. Mellow stonework and similar murals. The Altar appears completely out of context with rest of the Cathedral. Nearly in Gaudi style. Worthy of a quick visit.

It's astounding to walk into this cathedral & behold the splendor of the architecture and the simply overwhelming feeling of other-worldliness. You really do need to sit down for a few moments to contemplate the sheer beauty and accomplishment of the structure, although, in all...More

My daughter and I were here today. It is absolutely spectacular! Now I want to see St. Peter's! So beautiful, so peaceful. My daughter has autism, and understands little of religion, but, she felt the peace. She sat in her wheelchair, eyes closed, perfectly content....More

The building across from Dorchester Square is an eye catching and imposing structure. The interior is equally beautiful. No charge for access, worth visiting. We were there at 12:30. No crowds and a prayer service was in progress.

We have come here several times on trips to Montreal. It is a beautiful building both inside and out. The fact that you can tour without paying a fee is very nice, especially for families with young children with short attention spans. However, trying to...More

Walking into Marie Reine-du-Monde is like walking into the Vatican in Rome. It's free, yet your jaw will drop. Although this National Historic Site is smaller than Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre Basilica, a half hour outside Quebec City, "Mary Queen of the World" is very ornate (being the...More

Very large church in the centre of Montreal. Waterstone work went into building this building where it is extremely large and very impressive remind me much of the churches of Europe.

Having been to Rome and St Peter's Basilica, this cathedral was very similar. I would loved to have spent more time touring the cathedral.

Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the
Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and
commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship
stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate
headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by
nightfall transforms from a business district into a
youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and
restaurants heavily peopled by students and young
