I mistakenly didn't read the website but this place is permanently closed. Wish it wasn't as there are few places in Toronto that's indoors for toddlers. From what it looks like, they are looking at reopening, I hope they look at some of the touch me children's museums as an example.

We live in Seoul which is full of really great kids cafes which are basically indoor play areas targeted at different age groups or with different themes. Compared to these cafes, I don't think the Discovery Centre was that amazing considering the price and areas. However, I really think Toronto needs these kinds of places for younger children, and I think this centre is a good start. There are many different areas (art, vet station, home station with toy appliances and food, instruments, make believe, foam building pieces, scooters etc), and there are occasional activities planned throughout the day (stories, singing, parade etc). The staff were all quite friendly, but my mother, who has over 30 years experience as an Early Childhood Educator felt that they were a bit obsessed with picking up and putting away toys even when children were still engaged with the toys. If we visit next year, I will be interested to see how they expand and develop the centre in their new permanent space.

I took my nearly 3 yr old here on a Thursday. Arrived just after opening so not too busy. It progressively got busier with groups arriving later in morning. I thought the different areas were great. It gave my daughter an opportunity to explore be creative and imaginative. She loved every area. Spent the least amount of time in the vet clinic and most amount of time in art & dress up rooms. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. Loved the music playing in the art room! Staff working there were excellent!!!!!! I thought the price was actually quite reasonable. We stayed for approximately four hours. Would highly recommend!

We have visited twice now, most recently with the kids being 5, 3, and 1.5. They enjoyed going between each area and exploring. Gives a variety of different pretend play options (vet, camping, construction, grocery store etc.), creative play options (painting, music, dress-up theatre), a quiet area to read and a large room just to play and be wild. It has a lot of potential but is likely being held back some by being a temporary location. Feel it is a bit pricey with adults paying the full rate as kids.

Went with my niece and nephew ages 2.5 and 4. The kids had a blast. The centre is largely set up for free play. However, there are about 9 or 10 discrete spaces, each with a different theme. That worked really well for the short attention span of kids that age. Moving between different rooms and trying new things kept the kids engaged. The toys were great and everything had an educational slant. Great to see kids playing with toys that require them to use their imagination. All the kids there seemed to be having a ton of fun. The staff were amazing and incredibly kind and helpful.
