Our guide was very informative and said we should have emailed ahead for some restaurant recommendations showing true hospitality. We enjoyed all the places... More

Started off with the Riverside and Leslieville Tour. Was greeted with a cookie from our tour guide, Ian! Tons of food! Ian was very knowledgeable about the area having been a restaurant owner. Went back for the St Lawrence Market Tour. Was lucky enough to have Ian again. Only 4 in our group and had lots of food and laughs!... More

Not only was this one of the highlights to our 4 day trip but it left us wanting to come back again, as soon as possible. A wonderful introduction to the history, neighborhoods and family owned restaurants and cafes of Kingston. Fun for long time residents too! We visited seven locations on an easy walk with lots of stories from guide Catherine along the way. She made us all feel welcome and conversation flowed as we enjoyed the food and drink. Highly recommended!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
