A friend had already attended a few of Ian's tours and convinced me to come along to a VIP St Lawrence Market tour on the weekend, am I ever glad she did! Ian was funny and had a great deal of knowledge and expertise to share with us as we walked the perimeter of Old York and explored the historic... More

Jessica - THANK YOU SO MUCH for your 5-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review. Ian is a great Culinary Guide - always full of stories and smiles. But make sure to check out Wellesley, Leo, Kevin - they've got serious Food Tour game as well! Hope to see you again soon! More

Amazing experience. Delicious food. This was my second tour with Ian (first one was Little Italy). Loved the first and came back for more. Educational session walking around old Toronto, learned a bunch of new things tried a bunch of new food. Great experience overall and would book another tour with Ian again. 100% recommend. You won't be disappointed.

This is the second food tour my friends and I have done with Ian, of the Culinary Adventure Co. Both tours have been a wonderful experience. Our first tour was the St. Lawrence Market which we still have fond memories of, and this one at Leslieville was equally as amazing. Ian is a very good guide, knowledgeable and entertaining. The... I did the tour of Little Italy with my girlfriend on a Wednesday night. Fantastic. We met Ian on the corner where planned and he took us to 3 different restaurants. Each of the restaurants were great on their own - and we'll definitely look to go back to them - but the best part was the chance to go... More

Our guide, Ian, is a trained chef and experienced restauranteur. Not only does he know all about food but knows the restaurant business from the inside out. We had a very small group and really got spoilt with the food as well as the stories behind the Toronto restaurant trade...great recommendations too.

We had a great morning on the VIP tour with Ian at St Lawrence Market. Started with a great coffee and walking tour of the area surrounding the market. Tons of great history and tips for spots to check out in the area. Moving into the market, we had TONS of food (lots to bring home!!) --- amazing variety of... More

Wellesley provided an amazing tour of the Danforth yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the tour, the food and drink, and the birthday cake with sparkler at PAN for my daughter! Now we know where to go in Greektown for great food and drink. Thank you! We'll be booking more tours with Culinary Adventures for sure!

Having lived in the area for a few years, it was a truly lovely and unique way to spend some time getting (re)acquainted with our city. My husband and I joined for the King and Queen St West brunch tour, and were delighted at the variety of tasty nibbles - and historical/contextual tidbits - we were introduced to along the... More

As a local, you rarely get a chance to explore your own neighborhood, let alone get a chance to explore one that you think you know really well - and this tour doesn't disappoint! Kevin showed us a great time stopping through different locations through the King and Queen West area in Toronto. There was a good balance of the... More

Just got home from this tour and I must say that I really enjoyed it! This is my third walking tour with this company and it was fun exploring a neighbourhood that I don't usually frequent and getting an insider view of where to go, as well as trying new food along the way. Kevin was our guide/owner of the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
